#2194174 Wings sign D Mike Commodore to 1-year, $1m contract

Posted by Reds4Life on 01 July 2011 - 02:07 PM

I guess Holland started drinking again.

Wings need top4 defenseman, with Ericsson being the 5th one and Kindl and Smith playing for the 6/7th spot. Commodore is slow, washed-up player.

WTF is going on in Detroit today. This is absolutely USELESS signing. It brings nothing to the team.

Top6 forward and top4 defenseman are needed. Not this crap.

#2193167 Wings re-sign Ericsson to 3-year, $9.75m contract

Why not bring his mom into it? Wouldn't it effect your game? These are things that are all factors. He has the basics. We've seen him do well. He needs to get it all together. Something like having your mom sick and maybe dying can mess with your head.

If things are better for her (and I hope so, because she's a human being, not because I want her son to play better) then I don't think it's unwise to give him another go.

Overpaid? Yeah, in comparison to the rest of the team, but you pay against what is available in that year.

Raffy was a steal at 6 mil. He had been offered 8, but turned it down to play in Detroit. Compared to Nik and Stu, he was overpaid. Lids has been a huge bargain compared to what he could make elsewhere for years.

I think that's why he has the contract he has. It's not what we have; it's what we have yet to get that determines the price. Would we want Lilja for that contract? Salei? Jovo? They're all listed at even or below him on most UFA lists I've seen this year. It's been an odd year with little talent available going into Free Agent Day. Everyone will overpay this year, not just Holland.

So his sick mom made him post 33 points in 160+ games, while being soft and minus 11?

Maybe Holland will stay at home today..so he does not make any more MORONIC moves.

Ericsson for 3+ per year. LMAO.

Panic move by Kenny Perfect.

God no.

Komisarek is useless.

#2190297 No, No, NO! Jagr interested in Detroit.

I'd rather see him sign a 1 year, $1 million deal to play on the 3rd line.

Why would he play on the 3rd line when he's better than all our wingers (excluding Z who is at his best when he plays center), except for maybe Franzen (way too streaky player though).

Posted by Reds4Life on 25 June 2011 - 08:58 AM

imf****** pissed too. i was pushing as hard as anyone to land this guy. shows that a trade was possible, and people (babs) felt like we should have picked him up. f*** holland. carter, richards, and now burns? god i don't see this offseason going well anymore.

Yeah sure. f*** Holland.. for not blowing up the team and trading away our best prospect for one defenseman with only one year left on the contract..because there are no defensemen on the market anymore. f*** him indeed.

Yeah, well Holland just does not have Setoguchi to trade though.

Filppula or Hudler are nowhere near as good.

#2186951 No, No, NO! Jagr interested in Detroit.

Agree, the translation is really bad,but he indeed said that

Já jsem o tomhle nepřemýšlel. Uvidím, jaké budou nabídky.

Don't get me wrong,I'm all for Jagr in Detroit if the price is right :beerbuddy:

In English that would be "I never thought about that. I'll see what my options are." Which means he'll consider all his options (NHL, KHL) and pick one.

He did NOT say "I'll see what they offer." (as in, how much)

Welcome to LGW where being 25 and putting up 40 points > being 40 and putting up 60 points.

Also, most people have no idea that checking was meant to separate player from the puck, they just see big hits and drool over. Fighting makes team tough and enforcers are super important. Red Wings are soft, which is why they suck every year. Gotta love LGW.

If Jagr went to the Wings, he'd be 2nd or 3rd (Franzen + maybe Cleary are better) best winger on the team. Seriously, if Bertuzzi or Holmstrom can play in the top6, then Jagr is a clear upgrade. This is not even arguable. Plus Jagr would be by far the best player on the 2nd PP unit. For a good cap hit (under 2M) Jagr is a no brainer.

ROFL @ the conspiracy theories. Pathetic.

Kesler is gonna win this, but nice to see Pav in the top3 despite his injuries.

Nashville in 6. I hope.

#2125299 Wings Playoff/Cup chances?

Posted by Reds4Life on 03 March 2011 - 01:43 PM

Not good.
Defense is horrible compared to Red Wings standard. Way too much time is spent in our end, and Howard is not exactly playing great either. Barring a complete defensive turnaround, Wings have very little chance, if any, of winning the Cup.

Also, it does not help that Modano MUST be on the roster. He is not a very good player anymore and the younger guys at least provide more energy.

#2123448 Wings sign Howard to 2-year, $4.5M extension

WAY too much for inconsistent and average goalie like Howard.
