#2663096 3/29 GDT - Red Wings at Canadiens - 7:30 PM EST

This team plays with me way too much. I went from being very disappointed  down 0-2, to being overly happy now at 3-2...  Please don't let them score the rest of this game.

Two goals on one power play by the 2015-2016 Wings. Who would have thought that was possible!

Glad to see Larkin on the ice

We don't have the talent to score lots of goals and be a higher seed.  So yes, the goalies have to be better.  If Mrazek wants to play for a better team, he's more than welcome to ask for a trade.  I won't lose any sleep based on the mental weakness he's showed.

So our team doesn't have the talent to score a lot of goals, and thats ok. Neither of our goalies are capable of holding the opposition to what? 2 goals or a less a game for 82 games, so they are mentally weak and terrible? Ok.

Do you blame goaltending on two on one back doors and the such no. But 3 of the 4 goals you expect an NHL goalie to save. Those are the ones you blame them for.

My point is, when the rest of the team has been garbage all year, it's been out goaltenders stepping up and playing a huge part in winning games. When our goaltenders are struggling, nobody else steps up. The entire team has been invisible all season, but people are so quick to jump on goaltending.

I got news for you.  When we played 7 and 8 seeds in the first round every year (back when we were good), those teams were carried by their goalies.  That's how they even made the playoffs.  Teams that are lower seeds don't score lots of goals.  They have to rely on defending and goaltending.  Mainly goaltending.

That's awesome, and our goalies have done that all season. Jimmy had his slide, and Mrazek is having his. How about the rest of the team who's been invisible for the whole side, besides Larkin? That's ok right? Let's just blame the goaltenders for having some rough periods and having no other team mates to rely on. I don't care what other teams have done. This is the team I care about.

Weak goals or not, I still don't think it's fair blaming either goaltenders. We can't score. We can't defend. Do we have to expect either goalies to carry every single game? When is the rest of the team going to be held accountable? I don't really care who you have in net, when you're scoring 1 goal a game most nights, to win we'd need a shut out frequently and that's unrealistic.

This is a fragile team can't afford to have a trash goalie giving up softies we won't win another game

Jimmy should be playing

And if Jimmy was in net, we'd be seeing this same comment, but about Mrazek.

I just don't get it. Is it our players? I personally think we have quite a few good players, but I don't see them doing much of anything. Is it the coaching? I haven't missed a game in so many years, and I won't stop watching, but man this is not fun to watch. Even when we score, I just don't get that feeling of excitement because of expecting to just go down again.

#2655181 Happy 20th Anniversary, LGW!

20 Years, thats absolutely ridiculous in an awesome way. I pulled up the website as far back as I could go, which is in year 2000 and including some screen shots here. Matt has done a tremendous job and this site has come a long way. I wish I could have pulled up something from it's first year, but this will have to do.

#2651351 New NHL website design....

Posted by Jasper84 on 07 February 2016 - 10:12 AM

To me, this looks like a budget website. They may have contracted this out to some new company to build and it's terrible. Someone in an early post mentioned the site speed, how it loads slow and I just had to run a speed check on it. Whats really sad is that they didn't put an ounce of effort into optimizing the speed, which has many downfalls.

That was not on Howard. He made a good save getting over, but no D support.
