#2670930 ECQF Game 4 GDT : Tampa Bay Lightning at Red Wings, 7:00 EST

Yzerman, on one knee, struggling with his stick to get up after every hit absorbed is what a Red Wing is. It's a level of respect for the jersey that these guys should have.

Your always going to be disappointed. I've never seen another player with the heart Steve had in any sport. I really don't expect to see it again.

At the end of the day, the playoffs are based on a record though 82 games. In 82 games, we won enough to earn a playoff spot.

Am I happy about the last two games...no. But, the season is not a 3 game season.

I just hope the Wings that come out in the playoffs are the same team I watched shutout Philly earlier in the week.

All night last night I was disgusted with the Wings playoff push effort, I felt yes they made the playoff's but didn't deserve it. Your comment actually sums it up perfectly and make me feel a lot better about the process. The Wings did earn a playoff spot over the course of a 82 game season.

Best thread in months! Go Wings, glad to have the game day threads back!

#2331877 Who was the better Wing/Player? Yzerman or Lidstrom

Posted by cupcrazy on 17 October 2012 - 03:58 AM

Lids. Hands down. Seven Norris Trophies that should have been 10. Yzerman never won any best forward trophies other than a Selke.

This had nothing to do with the fact Yzerman shared his prime with the two greatest forwards ever in Gretzky and Lemieux? He would have had the most points in 88 and 89 if not for the two greatest players of all time.

Lemieux had 199 points, Gretzky had 168, and Yzerman ONLY had a punie 155 points that season. Yzerman scored over a 100 points a season six years in a row. Had he not shared his prime with those two he would have had a lot more hardware.

This. Lidstrom is the second best defenceman of all time. Yzerman wasn't even the second best center of his era.

No he was the 3rd behind Gretzky and Lemieux

#2314773 Ryan Suter agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild

Helene tweeted Wings weren't close on money with Parise, I just wonder is Suter said if Detroit won't sign us both we'll both just go to wild?

If I was llitch I'd tell Kenny if they haven't signed by 3pm Thursday we start seeking other options.

#2313293 Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running

Posted by cupcrazy on 02 July 2012 - 08:52 PM

Semin in particular seems more Holland's style rather than land the biggest (and most expensive) fish out there. A talented player who's got somewhat of a bad rep and can live up to their potential here. Plus the lure of playing with Datsyuk. Hoping that with Detroit he'd shake the questionable work ethic tag.

When I look at Semin I see Robert Lang all over again, has the talent, but lacks the heart.

First I get ICS on my phone finally then I hear this good news. Hopefully they sign here.

Sounds like you have a Razr, I've been rocking ICS since January on my Nexus!

On topic, it would be a dream to land both, but like many I want Suter first as we have talent up front.

#2308261 2012 Lockout Watch

Posted by cupcrazy on 20 June 2012 - 01:10 PM

The NHL cannot suffer another lockout.

I agree 100%, people are done with guys that make millions. Owners and players cancelling games/season over a few extra bucks, I mean it's all about coin right?

Like someone else said, the ratings are as good as they'll ever get with Gary (dickweed) Bettman as commissioner, and having a tv contract with NBCsports instead of ESPN.

I love the NHL and Wings more than I can put in words, but another lockout and I may have to walk away. The NHL seems to be the only sports that thinks they can keep having lockouts and fans will always stick around.

#1976203 Who would you most blame for a round 2 loss?

Posted by cupcrazy on 05 May 2010 - 01:16 AM

I think the entire team has failed, after making the hard fought push to make the playoffs since the olympic break the entire team looks gased to me.Also I just don't think Howard has what it takes to make it in the playoffs. He's like Legace,a great season goalie, but come crunch time he just isn't good enough.

We all know at the end of the day it's a team sport, but we just don't have the goaltending this year to get the job done.I had to work tonight and didn't get to see the game, but being up 3-1 midway in the 3rd,there's no excuse for losing this game.We have to find a number one goalie this summer,or next year will be more of the same.
