#2515684 Classy move by Tootoo.

Posted by CapnSmitty on 24 April 2014 - 11:34 PM

That is my son! He was estastic when he got home with it! He even told me he was gonna learn to shoot righty (he's a lefty). Was a awesome act by Tootoo, and I know my son will not soon forget the gesture.

His culture and his pride in his people were always paramount to him, if it weren't for his douchey attitude on ice I would probably have liked him from when he was with the Milwaukee Admirals seeing him 6 times a year playing against the Griffins. Now I can see he was an agitator, and hope that he endears himself to us, as long as we don't hear those damn Train Whistles....

#2306780 Helm gets his cast off

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought of was Harry Potter?

#2305193 Nick is just downright impressive on and off the ice

Posted by CapnSmitty on 04 June 2012 - 01:55 PM

It's amazing the difference in the class act that Nick is with something like this, compared to the classlessness of say Lebron James, who has a 1 hour show to announce where he is signing as a free agent....

Right here is why I am a Red Wings fan, because of players like him, and the class that the organization has as a whole...

Wow, funny to think Crosby himself said he is going to stay away from the chirping and after whistle scrums...wow he can't even lie well either, he has been a little ***** all day... One thing I have noticed, I hate the Pens since the Crosby era began, because as the teams captain, and as such the teams identity is based on the actions of the captain, and well, he is a piece of krap, and is a terrible person to have as the face of the league. Back when the Pens were lead by Mario and Jagr, they were my favorite team outside of the Wings, and now I cant stand them, all because of their captains actions...

I love the fact that Crosby did nothing in the tie up with Giroux until the linesman got in, and then low and behold Crosby becomes a big man and starts throwing punches with only one glove off....what a ******..

i never said it was okay did i? or are you blind?

Never coming out directly and saying it no, but you are seemingly defending it, by saying things like

jollymania, on 11 April 2012 - 10:58 PM, said:
he didn't smash his head against the glass, it jsut wasn't hard and he sold the injury, he wasn't injured.

It amazes me that you can think this way and call yourself a Wings fan, so Zetterberg sold it... got a question, have you EVER once laced up skates and played organized hockey? Or are you an Armchair Expert at the sport?

it wasn't that bad, hank was selling it, but the fact that it happened at the end of the game was bogus

Are you Frakking kidding me? You are saying the punch then slamming his head into the boards was Hank Selling it? He must have done a GREAT job being down for a good minute or two after the game, and ohh yeah the Linesmen coming RIGHT over to get in between webber....I sometimes find it hard to believe you are a Wings fan with your comments...

Wow, I just realized how much the Wings need Helm...since they lost him they lost ALL of their Spark...and for the love of GOD, why is Cleary on the PK?

#2275897 3/30 GDT : Predators 4 at Red Wings 1

Posted by CapnSmitty on 30 March 2012 - 08:40 PM

This Team has simply lost all its Drive, passion, hell Hockey Sense...ALL season long they have played GREAT D, now it is gone, The pp...Terrible. I am usually not one to complain about players, but WTF, Cleary....Bert....Franzen.... I am just amazed at the lack of urgency that this team has shown the last half of this season, I know we went through a bunch of injuries, but damn, if we dont turn it around it is gonna be a SHORT 2nd Season...

#2271265 3/17 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3 (OT)

Honestly, I can not put into words how much Cleary is a waste of space this year. Every Time he is out on the ice he does NOTHING, like on the OT goal there, he just waves his stick then is standing around and watches the goal go in....I just don't know what is wrong with him this year, but good lord has he been TERRIBLE this all season....

#2000250 Honest Question about AHL ownership

Posted by CapnSmitty on 16 June 2010 - 03:11 PM

Hey folks, honest question here. I'll be open in admitting that the extent of my GR following is done on this site, so forgive me if this is a silly question, but...

How does ownership of AHL teams work with regard to NHL ownership? By this I mean, does Illitch Holdings own the Griffins outright, so all salaries come out of the same pool as the Wings (cap notwithstanding)? Or is there a more complicated setup? Is this scenario enforced as the only way for AHL affiliates to be held, or is there no true boilerplate for such things? Also, I understand it is common for coaches (and players) to cut their teeth in the AHL -- is the same true for front office employees?

Thanks in advance!

I know for a fact that Illitch Holdings does not have any part of ownership of the Griffins, I am also mostly sure that the players signed by the Wings (as in have a wings 2 way/1 way contract) are on the Wings payroll, anyone who is on an ATO or Griffins contract are on the Griffins Payroll.
