This excuse is bulls***. If he was injured, he wouldn't be playing. Simple as.
Because nobody ever plays injured. It's been noted multiple times by Babcock that he is injured. Sure he's useless right now but you win with players like Cleary in your line up in the playoffs.

The last time the Wings lost six games in a row was the year they won the Stanley Cup.
82 games equals a long season, which is exactly what teams need to work through funks that inevitably happen to everyone.
With a depleated line up. This team is far from Championship calibre.

I agree somewhat with the article. He's in Detroit to play hockey, not to be a side show. I'm sure there's now pressure on him to wear 64, when obviously since he never has, probably has no desire to.
