First, he was never better than ordinary, and second, we don't need a guy coming off a separated shoulder.
He doesn't give us anything we don't already have, while Wiz does. Wiz is a right handed shot, and is physical and gritty. Ehroff is a poor man's Kronwall.
That's the important thing in all this.
I agree on the right and shot, and sure Wiz is gritty but also pretty bad in the defensive end. Ehrhoff while not stellar is a great first pass defenceman similar to rafalski and can quarterback a pp. Can skate like the wind, and yes maybe is very similar to Kronwall which isn't a bad thing. All i'm saying is Ehrhoff in my mind is the best D out there right now.

if you read the post before you just hit neg, I said disappointed THUS FAR... He says he needs to replace Rafalski, yet when a great player is available, he balks. Holland could've offered more than the Sharks did for Burns but for some reason he won't budge on his "core." That is why most teams get better every year and the Wings don't. I am ready for July 1st, but THUS FAR, Holland spewed a bunch of crap about making deals on draft day only to trade down so he can draft Haken Pupen and Bojrn Swappin Nutt in the second round... I am THUS FAR disappointed, he stood in the batters box today and watched the ball go by...strike one. Strike three and I will go back to hating him and once again knowing that he is NOT the best GM in the NHL. Today, Brian Burke, BRAINf****** BURKE FOR f***'S SAKE slapped Holland around like a *****...

I haven't read his name once this off-season and that is a big surprise.
Obviously Stuart has 1 year left on his deal but the fact that his family never made the move to Detroit means he was giving himself a 4 year window (his contract) to try to win the cup with the wings. It's quite obvious he plans on going back to LA, ANA, or SJ in 2012 offseason. I wouldn't be shocked if Holland has had conversations with Stuart about his future plans and seeing if he would like to return to the west coast a year early. It would benefit Stuart and the Red Wings to make the deal this summer.
HUH? He already won the cup with the Wings and then re-signed. That makes no sence.

#2179704 Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski

He was 15th on the Hawks in scoring that playoff run. But yeah, let's make him the highest paid player on the Red Wings and help out the Blackhawks while doing so. Blackhawk fans will be blasting Chelsea Dagger all summer if we traded for Campbell.
I lol'd. That's actully a catchy tune.
But a back end of
Lids - Stuart
Campbell - Kronwall
Wiz - Kindl
would be nice. or a cheap UFA defenseman for Kindl.

no, someone else in this thread suggested it and I think you're both clearly smoking something... it would be a HORRIBLE trade...
How so? Even tho Campbell is over-paid by about $1.5 mill, he is still an elite defenseman. Was Chicago's best defenseman in the series against Vancouver. The guy has some serious wheels. Then we let Ericsson go, and sign Wiz. In this scenario we'd also have a little bit of money to spend up front.

two people making the same joke?
Naw, i'm that person on HF if that's what ur talking about.
But seriously, that would be awesome trade. I know Campbell is over paid, but he's better then any FA out there. Only has 3 years left and we get rid of Hudler as well. I'd do it, then sign Wiz.
EDIT: he has about 5 yrs left, 3 was a typo.

That's an unreal defence right there. 5 guys capable of 30+ points, and Stuart being a wildcard. Not to mention, big mean and nasty. Think I'm gonna throw NHL11 in right about now..
