Anyone interested in Versteeg? I could see him getting traded to make room for Bryz.

Versteeg is Hudler with a bigger paycheck; faster, but not as much offensive vision.

He'd drive the people here nuts.

#2186954 Changes in the offseason

This is my wild dream based on some flimsy contract proposals floating around the web.

Don't think it would happen, but it would make me the most happy, and three right handers added is a good thing.

#2186854 Wild Firesale Could Mean Wings Benefit

Posted by Datsyerberger on 18 June 2011 - 10:34 PM

I know this is off topic, but two avatar questions here:

@DatsYerBerger: That is Jokinen in your avatar right? What happened in the game for him to actually act like that? Thats Fu**ed.

I haven't the slightest clue and don't know anyone who does, but it's frigging hilarious, even without the waffle edit.

I would give Hudler, Emmerton, Kindl and a 2nd rounder for Burns in a heartbeat

Me too.

Fletch would hang up the phone on me laughing, though. Fletcher is an *******. :(

#2186673 James Wisniewski

Well, we win cups as the oldest team in the league so I'll live with that.

#2186380 Epic Boooing of Bettman

Posted by Datsyerberger on 17 June 2011 - 12:33 AM

The guy is bad in interviews, and seems to have a nagging condition which doesn't appear to get better when he is put on the spot.

I'll agree the guy isn't a great PR commissioner, but at the same time what has he said (other than little things that may piss off a few fans) that has been a PR nightmare?

With the way people react I doubt even a guy with smooth talking could satisfy the fans of the NHL.

I disagree. The vast majority of people tend to care more about how well someone can dress up a pig than whether or not a product is a pig. Plenty of substantiated research behind that (used in sales and marketing departments the world over).

#2186378 No, No, NO! Jagr interested in Detroit.

Posted by Datsyerberger on 17 June 2011 - 12:31 AM

So that means he cares?

(Could care less=/=couldn't care less)

:hehe:

Not sure I can trust the journalistic quality of a publication hiring writers that confuse that term. People on message boards are one things. Paid writers are another matter.

#2186020 Wings unlikely to sign Osgood/Draper

Posted by Datsyerberger on 16 June 2011 - 02:43 AM

only delusional homers want osgood back.

get a clue.

And only a spoiled little f*** on a message board would send off players who have actually contributed to cup wins by this franchise (and been kind and gracious human beings all the while) in such a manner.

Time for them to move on? Yea, probably.

Time for you to gtfo? Be my guest.

Luongo is playing great for the Bs tonight, Conn Smythe imo.

This is stunning news. I've never read it before and have never seen anything remotely similar on the first page of general discussion on LGW.

#2185511 Dollars and Sense

Bunch o' ragey stuff... burn baby burn, disco inferno...

Contrary to what you seem to think, the problem is not really your ideas or content. By and large there's little different from what the majority of people here agree/disagree with.

It has more to do with the fact that you create thread after thread of things that are of a similar vein, thread-wise, to numerous other threads that are already out there (for example, why couldn't this go in the off season changes thread?). It's as if you don't want to be seen as inanely repetitive, so you don't post similar things over and over in the same thread. Instead, you... well, I'll let you figure the rest of that out.

Me, I don't really care. I find it somewhat amusing in a sideshow sort of way.

Also, the culture here tends to be full of sarcasm and cynicism. Happiness and togetherness is not enforced here. LGW definitely isn't a place to come to get a pat on the back... on the other hand, if you want to discuss and particularly debate hockey, it's a great place. We love our arguments here. Do people take it over the line? Absolutely. But it tends to be the same people over and over, and veteran posters generally know who they are and to begin ignoring them immediately.
