I am very happy and relieved and proud of DRW for making the playoffs for 24 straight seasons. It's an amazing accomplishment.
I also can do without the extreme negativity, never fun.
But I disagree with a sentiment of, "Hey let's be happy we're in, this team is still great!" Yes they are, but they have faltered after looking extremely promising at several points during this season. Further, expectations are reasonably high for this franchise. I believe it is understandable to be disappointed with this team. We invest so much as fans and sure, these runs to the playoffs are great, but it is not baseless to be somewhat disappointed.
All being said, love this team til I die and here's to an improbable playoff run. Cheers!
My thoughts are, the goalie situation is likely to not be solved by the postseason if the Wings make it. Not the same whatsoever, but in a similar fashion to 2008 when Osgood was switched for Hasek, if Pete/Jim look like crap early in a playoff series, then Jim/Pete will come in. The way things are going I just don't see them figuring it out completely by season's end.
That all being said, I am glad Mraz is starting Thursday because he looked real solid for the majority of the game.
Let's go Wings! Wings show same effort as the great GDT and come out with the victory!
Ya it is pretty weird. Maybe Babcock sees it like Ericsson at least has a track record of decent success here (last season and the 09 playoffs and stuff). Weiss has had maybe a handful of good games here in almost 2 years. He hasn't done much for us at all.
Is Weiss even in the lineup tonight? The GDT doesn't really mention it
