#2213347 10/8 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Avalanche 0

I plan on streaming this game at http://freeredwings.tv. Fox Sports Detroit feed, Veemi stream, 800-1000 kbps bitrate.

#2211181 Gustav Nyquist

He had more points than times he got hit, plus he looked like he belonged way more than he looked like he didn't. Everyone gets hits, especially rookies in preseason. It happens and he got right back up, he's fine.

he got laid out, end of story, doesn't matter whatever else he did, that obviously means he probably needs to get stronger, and he obviously is tiny.

If you want a fight watch the UFC tonight. I'm happy with the Red Wings dominating the play and winning the game rather then throwing useless punches.

Joey Mac..... Posted Image

Yup, let's blame Mac for everything.

Not the fact the Wings lost a defensive zone draw in the late stages of the period and let Wideman take all the time in the world to take that shot.

And there were people who were more comfortable with MacDonald in net over Howard...

There was a reason.

Sure that was soft, but do you honestly think he has been like THAT since he's been here?

#2115454 Isles vs Pens

the atmosphere at the joe just isnt the same since the wings has become over run by *******

I feel sorry for you. Toughness shouldn't revolve around fighting, or else you would be calling many great players "*******".

I'm all for fighting, but the reasons and the way these fights happened I disagree with. I mean Gillies charged Tangradi, delivered a headshot, Tangradi was out, then he starts punching him, then he stays right by the boards and continues chirping at a guy that had a damn concussion for NO reason. That's sickening. I've played in the USHL, I've seen some gong shows first hand, I'd never thought I'd see a play like that in the NHL.

The Martin-Talbot thing I can get, it was a borderline hit on Blake and the Islanders wanted Talbot and Talbot should of stood up in the first period and that should be it. But after every whistle taking a swing at the guy? really?

Goddard broke a very important rule, and deserves whatever suspension he gets, tough to find video on what exactly Bylsma was doing, but take into account this was the same play that Tangradi was on the ice due to a cheapshot in every sense of the word, so that already puts the balance of players off. Not making excuses, but just something Goddard might have thought was important enough to justify it.

The Avs/Wings thing has some parallels, but to me the rivalry was built over a while, not just a week. The battles were faught by the heart and soul of each team, not just AHL callups.

That's just D-U-M dum.

#2102161 Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

Posted by Drake_Marcus on 21 January 2011 - 05:31 PM

it is my belief that if Geno (I hate the nickname Nabby, besides that was a SJ thing) is able to become a Red Wing, Osgood will be put on LTIR for the rest of the season, opening up $1.4M of cap space and then at the trade deadline, they will trade Hudler and his OVERPAID $2.8M, opening up even more to allow them to acquire a missing piece to put them over the top to win the Cup. Trade Hudler for a pick, then get a player with over $4.2M in cap space...it's so simple it's hidden right in plain view!

Have you even watched the Wings play in the last month?

Hudler's stats in that time:
12gp 3g 8a 11pts +2 2pim ~15 TOI/G (I'll be damned if I'm going to add all the times on ice up for those games and average them)
1 Shoot out winner

So Hudler's apparently turned the corner since he got his confidence back after his 1g1a game against Colorado.

And now you're advocating dumping him? 2.8 mil is a bargin for those numbers. We can't be sure whether he'll play at this level (the level he is historically known to play at based on his previous NHL seasons) or the garbage play he showed us before Christmas. Either:

A.) you think his early struggles were because he had trouble making the transition from KHL to NHL (game play and physical conditioning) which was compounded by a slump that caused him to lose confidence in himself.

or

B.) you have some sort of mental defect and think that some time between his 26th and 27th birthday he did a complete 180 and became a terrible hockey player (and the last month is a fluke)

But hey, you were the loudest voice calling for Leino's departure (man that sure makes you look brilliant now).

Well, Cleary's probably out.

Way to go, Stuart.

He's already on my list, but now he just jumped to #1. :ranting:

Really?

How the hell is that Stuart's fault?!?!

THAT IS HIS JOB TO PUT IT ON NET FROM THE POINT. The game of hockey involves risk and Cleary skated into the path of the shot. He did so willingly because he wanted to potentially screen or tip.

That was a fluke. Anyone who is mad at Stuart is being absurd.

#2004288 Savard to waive no trade clause

Posted by LeftWinger on 24 June 2010 - 09:33 PM

Again you're clearly confused about how brain damage works.

Concussion 1: Damn man. Get well soon.
Concussion 2: This is worrying. Try to avoid contact with your head.
Concussion 3: s***, that wasn't that hard of a hit... how'd you get concussed?
Concussion 4: f***! Another concussion? Do you remember math anymore?
Concussion 5: WTF? How did you get a concussion opening a jar of peanut butter?!?

Every concussion comes easier than the last.
Go read up about Eric Lindros.

A guy who has 4 concussions in his history is an injury waiting to happen.

Franzen and Zetterberg don't have injuries that cause them to be more prone to getting injured. They've healed and are fine now.

Savard's brain is damaged. It will never be the same again no matter how long he waits and rests. Brain injuries are extremely serious and not even remotely comparable to a knee injury or injured shoulder.

But hey-- if I don't agree with you about trading a young, upward trending player for a 32 year old with a frighting medical history I must be a slappy.

I hear ya man! I hear ya! But my hatred for Hudler runs too deep, I'd trade him for Ernie Harwell just to get him off my team...
