Harpoons at the ready. 5-2 Wings!

"I think it was a sniper that shoot me in the leg in the corner," Datsyuk joked. "I fall. That's why I pull the puck back with my stick. I just throw it to the middle. Bert (Bertuzzi) got it. We're still looking (for the sniper). We have to watch, see what happened."

LOL Datsyuk talking about the first goal.

Except those words...

Yea let's be real. Nothing hurts in this world like '09. I want a rematch and revenge.

#2251351 Rick Nash?

Posted by 8 Legged RedWing on 02 February 2012 - 04:08 PM

I don't think Filppula will be traded but I don't think he has to.

Nyquist, Mursak, Smith, 2012 + 2013 1st round draft pick. Go for the cup.

#2250924 When Eaves comes back...

Posted by 8 Legged RedWing on 31 January 2012 - 02:39 PM

see I'd rank them:

mursak
miller
eaves
emmerton

i think mursak has tremendous upside (we just haven't seen it consistently because of injuries) and is very young.

miller plays a role and plays it well, and i don't think he'll be one of those players expecting a significant raise every few years.

eaves cannot stay healthy. seriously, look at his TSN profile.

emmerton is... um.

Give the guy a break. He got a puck shot into his face. Not much you can do about that one. Even if he has had injury problems before hand, he hasn't been that injury prone while with the Wings besides for maybe a 10 game groin injury it has been all minor.

#2249188 Nick Lidstrom and Chuck Norris

Nick Lidstrom doesn't have any hair on his balls... why? Because hair doesn't grow on steel.

Blues just lost in a SO. Preds beat THE CORE and are now tied with them. Detroit can get get a little gap during the all star break with a win here. It would only be a 4 point lead but I'll take it. Should be a tough game but I think Bert will get #300 on a GWG.

I don't mind Howard being scrappy at all. He can stand up for himself and he isn't afraid to do so. He could complain to refs or media about it but instead he gets physical back. With the Joe chanting his name towards the end he was probably pumped up to get the win. He knows the hometown fans like physical goalies too ;)

cprice12, I saw you were saying Howard has a history of "attacking players" on your forum. Such as against Crosby when he was mauling Zetterberg at the end of that game which I'm sure you didn't see from your youtube clips. Or like here when Howard "attacked" Pietrangelo because he didn't like getting socked in the face at the end of a game when they were pushing and shoving back at Howard if not more (grabbing his mask from behind.) Yet you have complaints about Stewart instigating Stuart? Enough Excuses. We'll see you April 4th. And then maybe a month or so after that if you're lucky.

lol Lebda? We can chalk up a W. 3-1 Wings.

#2246263 Why don't we have a "JIM-MY JIM-MY!" chant yet?!

Posted by 8 Legged RedWing on 16 January 2012 - 11:37 PM

Yea it was good hearing the 'Jimmy Howard' chant but I think a simple 'Howie' would be better as well.

Conklin has the ability to play well but even a backup goalie needs some action every now and then so I'm not sure you can blame him if he plays poorly. He just hasn't played enough. I still think they will come out with a better effort then last night. 4-2 Wings.

I was just going to say, I doubt he used the 'N' word because if a ref heard that, it would be a much bigger deal. I was thinking along the lines of a monkey or something banana related as well which it turns out was the case. I'm not sure on what the league should do about this specific comment but I'm with esteef on this one. If you don't want the specific word to be said to you, then stop calling each other it especially in music that EVERYONE listens to.

#2237815 Quebec culture minister upset at Habs

Posted by 8 Legged RedWing on 21 December 2011 - 05:16 PM

What you americans arent understanding is that Quebec is a majority french province who have been striving for decades to preserve their language. The canadiens are a major symbol of the french people, they have sport shows where all they talk about is the habs. Now they have a teams with like zero french players of any significance, an owner who never talks to the media, a gm who never talks to the media, and now an entire coaching staff that can't speak french. Jacque Martin literally did all the interviews for that team. I know that montreal is pretty bilingual, but the entire province is habs crazy. 90% of the fans are french. So who will now be the spokesman for the team? Could you imagine how pissed you'd be if the no one froms the wings where ever avialable for interviews? now multiply that by 10. Thats how they feel, its totally understandable they atleast dont have an assistant coach who can speak french. Is that too much to ask?

How many of those 90% French speaking fans do you think can speak English as well? Probably close to all of them especially the younger ones. So would it really be a burden to listen to an interview from the coach in English which you can certainly understand just fine? It's a game FFS. Everything of importance in their life like business and whatever else is probably done in French. I actually went to Montreal 2 years ago in the summer. I don't speak a lick of French and I had no trouble eating out or going to bars or anything really.
