#2546010 THN: 30 NHL teams, 30 I-never-saw-this-coming starts for players

Nyquist continuing his incredibly high scoring rate is great news, no sign of a sophomore slump so far and he seems to be the real deal.

Also impressed by Smith and Quincey so far.

So we add how many great saves to the Howard thread?

They've all been average. Zero great saves.

Nice to see no “Bad Pass Goals” so far by Howard

#2533244 Hockey News: The 5 most evil hockey photoshops we could come up with

Posted by wings87 on 28 July 2014 - 11:56 PM

I could honestly say I would never EVER like crosby. Yes he is a very skilled player but there just is no way I like him even if he was on the wings.

That's been said by many fans about many players, but when the goals start going in and the points are being racked up, like him or not it would be impossible not to root for him.

While Philly hates Crosby, I'm sure if he somehow ended up in a Flyers Jersey there would be a line to kiss his ass.

The same could be said if he ever made his way to Detroit.

Dan Cleary taught him that to pass the time.

#2529388 Wings to have face to face with Matt Niskanen

Posted by kipwinger on 02 July 2014 - 10:34 AM

What happened to Niskanen's going to make "Eleventy Billion dollars and get paid like a first pair defenseman"?  Some predicted upward of 7 million.  Anybody wanna raise their hand and call a mulligan on that one?

KH:  "Hey Matt, you should sign with us".

MN:  "Why would I do that?  You're a worse team than the one I'm leaving and you've done nothing to improve."

KH:  "Oh by the way, we're going to need you to sign for less than you'd make elsewhere".

MN:  Lol.

Holy s***.  I just realized I can see the future lol.  Although, to be accurate it wasn't just Niskanen turning down because our GM is cheap and complacent.

#2525331 Alfie informs Wings he wants to return

Man, I don't care if the guy's 42, 45, 58 1/2 - it's one less spot for Dan Cleary.

#2524572 Todd Bertuzzi will not be re-signed

Posted by DeGraa55 on 19 June 2014 - 11:13 AM

LOL, yes I read that, but there is no way Cleary will play in the NHL again. It is only for show, to make good on that promise.

Like to wager on that? I bet he starts the season IN THE TOP SIX.

#2523925 Slow News Day Thread

Posted by LeftWinger on 15 June 2014 - 10:45 AM

..aren't most days "slow news days" when it come to a Ken Holland Summer? :P

Just kidding! I like the idea, get some general NHL news talk going on to pass the time and bring us to two of the three best days in a NHL season... Draft Day, UFA Day and of course Trade Deadline Day...
