Seeing as the whole topic was Hossa's point production the last two playoffs, I really thought that Two-Way Ability would be underlooked. I guess I was wrong, as you somehow seem to think that this helps him put up points... it doesn't. Putting a eye rolling smiley face dosen't make you right.

You were the last picked at kickball weren't you?

I'd like to think so; Brett Lebda is in no position to be making salary demands.

#1993198 Which Rookie has the best chance at cracking the line-up next season?.

Posted by Andy Pred 48 on 02 June 2010 - 03:47 PM

Kenny and Babs have both said in the past that the best players will get to play, so we'll wait and see if they back this up. For those of you who ahve stated that Tatar will not see a min let alone a game this coming season, don't put your house on it! The Wings front office are big on this kid and they will bring him up for a stint this season, just to see how he handles it. By all comparison's, (Hudler with speed) and that will do for me. All this let them learn in the A for a few years, well some kids it will help, but occasionally you get a guy where you have to give them the ball early. I think Tatar falls into that catergory.

#1994027 Holmstrom signs 2 year extension

^ I really would only like to see one of Bert/Homer back next year. I'd rather spend 3 million (if we have the space) one someone who will make a little more impact than Bert. He was good the entire year, but as for actually putting points up, outside a few bright spots he wasn't very good.

#1994080 Report: Hasek headed to the KHL

Hasek is no doubt the best goalie of the modern era.

Go look at the replay of the goal. He lifts his leg, and banks it with a pretty obvious kicking motion towards the goal.

What about a nice combo of Stamkos and Kovalchuk down in Tampa? Hmmmmmmm, interesting to see how Steve handles his first ever UFA season! Bet he outshines Holland! Think we could dump Hudler off on him?

#1988634 Datsyuk Named Top Forward of World Championships

Posted by GMRwings1983 on 23 May 2010 - 07:38 PM

He's the most complete Russian forward. Whether that means "best" is up for debate. Datsyuk, Ovechkin, Malkin and Kovelchuk have all had terrible seasons though. At least Datsyuk can finish with a bit of a high note.

Datsyuk is the most complete, but Ovechkin is a scoring machine and is one of the 2 best players in hockey. Kind of hard to say that he's not the best Russian player in the league.

Not his fault he didn't play with the 2002 Wings or with Lidstrom and Zetterberg in the playoffs. He has a lot more pressure on him than what Datsyuk has ever had in Detroit. Other Caps players just let him down in the postseason these last few years.

Is he the best Russian forward in the NHL right now?

No.

#1988417 Whats the record in the NHL

There is hate for Hossa because supporting any Blackhawk player is unethical.

#1988262 Whats the record in the NHL

Posted by Drake_Marcus on 22 May 2010 - 02:50 PM

With a different team, I wouldn't know where to begin.

But I believe the overall record for most consecutive is 5 straight, held by 12 different players, all from the Canadiens.

Jean Beliveau, Bernie Geoffrion, Doug Harvey, Tom Johnson, Don Marshall, Dickie Moore, Jacques Plante, Claude Provost, Henri Richard, "Rocket" Richard, Jean-Guy Talbot and Bob Turner were with the Habs when they won the cup 5 times in a row, 1955/1956 to 1959/1960, which is still the longest Cup winning streak in NHL history.

So, if nothing else, Hossa would have to make it this year plus the next two just to tie that streak.

It's more interesting here because Hossa is coming up on his 3rd appearence all with different teams.

All I care about is that Hossa loses the Cup three years in a row.

Edit: Just to be clear-- I want Hossa to lose this year because he's a Blackhawk, not because I hate him. I just can't stomach the idea of Chicago having any kind of hockey success.
