#2342524 1/19: Red Wings 0 at St. Louis Blues 6

Posted by Guest on 20 January 2013 - 01:16 AM

oh man. wings lost big and that was a heartbreaker. but nothing like ending the night on a good note. CBC does a thing called After Hours where they interview someone from their late game,( pending on whos playing ). Tonight it was Vancouver vs Anaheim (nucks lost 7-3) but tonight they are interviewing Teemu Selanne. He is one of my Absolute Favourite players of all time, very classy guy. when i lived in winnipeg in the early-mid 90s, i went to a couple Jets games and he was just brilliant! I will really be sad the day he does decide to hang them up. The NHL will truly lose another amazing player to ever lace them up. Maybe when he retires he can become an actor like in this.

It's the first game of the season, these guys have not played NHL hockey in nine months, and there has been significant personnel turnover. The wrinkles will take some time to iron out.

Those of you who have concluded, based on this single game, that the season is over should consider quitting right now.

#2319847 Red Wings re-sign Quincey: 2-years, $7.55m total, $3.775/yr

As people here say when other teams sign free agents..........OVERPAID!!!!!!

#2318492 Homer

Posted by Z Winged Dangler on 12 July 2012 - 08:19 AM

There's no room on the Wings for Homer anymore. It's time to bring in the new blood and quit hanging on to guys WAY too long. All the best to Homer, but he's no longer useful enough to be on the Wings roster.

#2316872 Def trade on the horizon

I keep checking LGW hoping to see a new SIGNED/TRADED thread. Right before it loads up I tell myself, "Here it comes..." Annnd nothing. Yet.

#2316830 Wings hire Lidstrom as overseas amateur scout

Posted by LeftWinger on 07 July 2012 - 06:41 PM

We'll have McKee and Bodin in a few years...no worries about big and strong hitters...

Of course LIdstrom is gonna work for the Wings over there, did anyone expect anything else? You know what I want? Someone in Russia finding the next Fedorov/Datsyuk...

side note: without bumping it, I am sure glad the Suter/Parise threads are dropping off the first page....looking forward to the Kronwalling!

#2311699 Red Wings Sign G Jonas Gustavsson to 2-year deal, $1.5M/yr

I'll save you the trouble and provide the lines:

1 - Howard

2 - Gustavsson

#2310726 Sidney Crosby signs 12-year, $104.4M Contract, $8.7M/yr

How is "Crosby" not in our swear catcher?

#2299489 2012 World Ice Hockey Championships

Posted by akustyk on 05 May 2012 - 04:22 PM

This is the consolation Cup for those who got eliminated or didn't make it to playoffs.

not really. maybe from North American point of view it looks like this, but for European players this event, played almost always in Europe, is a big deal.
mind you... it's normal time for people here, we can watch the game without losing sleep, and for a big number of fans it's a chance to see home grown
talent. and for those players its a big chance to represent their country which at this side of the pond is still important.

in short: just because it is outside US/North America doesn't mean that it is worse...

#2228500 Eaves = Doghouse?

Posted by Wingzman91 on 21 November 2011 - 07:46 PM

It's got to be more than this.

You are wrong.
If he was healthy, he would be playing more often.
This is not a surprise that he doesn't play every game, since he has never played a full season in the NHL.
He's a little guy, in a tough sport, he plays awesome for his size but that also must wear on him.
The bottom line is, you don't sign someone for 3 years if that player is cancer.

To the serious comment:
I felt it necessary to answer the question, since 3 people including yourself bothered to respond and only one response was on topic.

#2221247 11/1 GDT: Wild 2 at Red Wings 1 (OT)

Posted by Guest on 01 November 2011 - 09:07 PM

i read previously that the wild didn't deserve a point out of this game.

i'd argue the exact opposite.

the wings played like total morons and didn't deserve a damn thing.

this team is embarrassing.

#2155783 Congratulations to the Phoenix Coyotes

Posted by Guest on 21 April 2011 - 10:22 AM

LOL, are you guys serious? Just because we beat them and they may move doesn't mean we should give them any sort of respect and certainly any credit (credit for what?!?). What did they do that's so great? 6th in the West (big deal), swept first round, have never won a playoff series. If this was any other team we wouldn't even think twice.

Bye bye Phoenix; there should never have been a hockey team in that city to begin with.

That's my opinion, come at me bro.

The only good thing that can come from Texas is heartbreak in Chicago.

#2069802 How Long has Huds got?

Posted by Guest on 28 November 2010 - 03:24 PM

He's got all the time in the world as long as Filppula here, because that'll mean there are unlimited Filppula and Hudler debates which makes some people in here have happy dreams.

Great contribution as always...
