#1983847 ECSF Game 6

Haha I was reading over this thread...actually kind of funny. The jealousy is hilarious. You aren't as domimant as you once were and now you are getting angry about it. You refuse to accept the fact that anyone in the NHL can be equal to the divine REd WIngs. Habs? 24 cups? No, the Red Wings are better. It's nourishing to me how much you guy want Pittsburgh to lose. Either way, I'm proud of the Pens. We play hard, we do contracts correctly. We might lose in seven to a team that also upset the President's Trophy winners, but at least we didn't lose in 5 to the biggest choke-artists of all time.

fail fail fail, who the f*** gives up 20 minutes of penalties in one game?

You remind me of Puffy 1 hour ago. Homemade Moonshine does wonders, I highly recommend it!

My parents "caught me" when I was 11 and they took me to a dr and had me circumcised several weeks later. They thought that would stop me, but boy were they wrong!

Oh yeah...Go Wings!

******* EPIC

ive been quite critical of osgoods sub-par play this year, but this is just getting old. youre beating a dead horse. osgood was decent yesterday, and without that soft first goal it would have been a completely different game.

You want to see Kronwall blatantly leave his feet and elbow Crosby when he's not expecting it?

That's what Kronwall means...right?

No my friend, we call that "Cooke"d

#1917325 Is Datsyuk a lock for the Selke?

This is the hardest award to judge, because it's not something regular fans can see as well as coaches. It's not a statistical award per se.

Because of his and the team's underachieving season, plus the fact that he doesn't have many short-handed goals, plus the fact that he's won it twice in a row (meaning they'd rather give it to someone else), makes me say that he won't win it.

i think it unfortunately is a stat vote. if it came down to simply who was best datsyuk would in a landslide i say. no one can takeaway the puck, protect it, and turn it into a scoring chance like he can, and his backchecking is tremendous.

A couple of reasons

1. The Wings have always platooned PKers. I believe for a number of years our lineup has allowed us to rotate as many as 8 to 9 forwards for PK duty. And not slouches either. Flip, Clearly, etc... and now Miller and Eaves.

2. Datsyuk, IMO is the catalyst for the offense (forwards that is). It's my belief that as the most creative and most offensive guy we possess, his time is best served doing that, providing offense and offensive chances. Especially on a team that has lost as much production as it has this year.

The question isn't if Dats is the best defensive forward, why doesn't he have the most PK time? The question is, why would you burn up your top centerman with excess minutes on the PK night in and night out when you have 6+ fully capable, pking forwards? Lead by Z, the Wings have ample ability to send guys out who can do the job.

If the Wings didn't have the players who could kill, then Dats would be out there more. But since we have so many who are capable, best to let them eat up some of those minutes. You can't play Pav 30 minutes a night. And having him out there all night killing PK's might be a good thing but not at the expense of exhausting him on the offensive side of things when the Wings are probably 100 goals shorter in the production dept. this year.

my thoughts exactly.

That was from that George Clooney episode wasn't it?

yep, definitely a classic.

its funny because my remarks dont reflect jealousy at all, and im sure yours dont either. there are a few players on his tier that i love. i have no respect for crosby as a person, and maybe a little bit as a player.

Given some of the comments "what a dive", "i'll pay someone $20 to do it again", this would be correct. I've never seen so much jealousy of a player from a fanbase in my life. It's laughable, and embarrassing at the same time.

And I can't really tell what the hell happened there. It was an awkward hit, certainly not a legal one, but Crosby didn't seem injured by it, played more minutes than any other player in that game. Looks like the penalty was justified and that's all that was necessary. Downie, on the other hand, needs to be watched for any other similar antics, as the guy doesn't bring much else to the game besides this stuff.
