They're feeding the fire with trash. Wait, is that Torres?

It's great what Canuck fans are doing, sticking around, cheering their team, cheering Thomas, chanting: "Go Nuck Go" and "Stanley Cup, Stanley Cup". I remember in 2009 when Joe Louis was mostly empty while Pens celebrated.

#2185419 Janne Lahti

I think that's a bit of a strech. I don't see him causing issues in Philly. Just cause he didn't want to stay in the AHL, doesn't make him a prima donna. He performed well as a recruit, and didn't fit in as a regular player. We also needed to cut someone from the roster at the time. Pretty simple.

I agree. He's much like Hudler - not very useful as a bottom six forward, but good in a same line with top forwards. Wings didn't have space for him, Flyers did.

Leino likes Philly because he has more freedom there. Apparently Babcock had too much structure for his liking.

So yes, I would call that prima donna behavior.

Sources, sources.

He's thanked and mentioned Nicklas Lidström at least five times.

#2179026 Will Dan Markov have influence on Andre?

Posted by P. Marlowe on 24 May 2011 - 11:16 AM

What does Danny Markov have to do with this?

Other than sharing a last name and both being russian, I don't believe they are related.

Of course they are related. Haven't you heard how small of a place Russia is?

#2178009 In-depth interview with Ken Holland

He's referencing Holland's wording "runner-up", which means 2nd place.

Whoops. Sorry, Mitchmac.

Unfortunately I don't have anything done fitting the latest topics, but I just wanted to dust off some old ones.

(I've got nothing against Crosby, this was actually inspired by the numerous Crosby threads here)

#2177901 Who has better future: Blues or Wings?

Posted by P. Marlowe on 21 May 2011 - 04:55 AM

I'm not a Nostradamus, but I think Hiei wrote some good points.

For the last few years Blues have been in a "bubble". They haven't made the playoffs, but they also haven't sucked enough to get the highest draft picks á la Penguins, Blackhawks and Capitals. If and when Blues rise to be a contender again they can be proud of doing it without getting Crosbys, Ovechkins and Kanes for free.

19 years old Mikael Granlund scored Finland's first goal against Russia. Finland won 3-0 and will face Sweden in the gold medal game.

#2164202 Reasons why Wings are down 0-2

After careful thinking I've come to the conclusion that to win Wings should've scored more goals than Sharks.
