#2487722 2/27 GDT : Red Wings 6 at Senators 1, Franzen w/Hat Trick

Franzen in playoff beast mode already?

Don't peak too early now.

Or his "One Multi- goal Game and Done" routine, only time will tell. Let's hope.

GUS! Best player on the ice tonight. Looked dangerous nearly every shift. Franzen was terrific too, which is a good sign going forward.

Boring, but efficient game until the inevitable blown lead. They are gonna have to clamp down defensively with Z out and Pavel still injured.

Shame they gave the Canadiens a point, but more importantly the Wings got two.

Best player not named Tatar.

Tatar and Jurco in the final minute? Love the kids, but not sure that's the best decision by Babs with a one-goal lead.

They have left so many points on the table by failing to hold a lead and losing in OT or SO.

What the heck just happened? We went into the 3rd with the lead and the 3rd is ending and we still have the lead?? What is this voodoo?

#2480413 What's wrong with Pasha? (Mod warning post #57)

How will you all feel if he plays in Sochi injured and comes back with a medal and a more serious injury that knocks him out of the rest of the season?

I remember Stevie Y doing this in 2002 and I ask all of you, is it worth missing a chance at the playoffs?

It would suck, but I would do the same thing in his position.  Olympics are a big deal.  Hosting them is an even bigger deal.  Representing your country as Captain is monumental, and it may very well be the last chance he gets at fighting for gold.

Other than Ericsson, we don't have one good defenseman in the defensive zone.

The other guys are all garbage.

#2478836 Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Posted by Internet.Unknown on 29 January 2014 - 09:33 PM

A top 4 defencemen, the wings have plenty of forwards to move. Obviously LGWs totally overvalues our s*** but players like andersson or tartar have value.

Tatar is one of the young guys I wouldn't want to trade. I would keep him over Nyquist, though I like both players.

#2478831 Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Posted by DickieDunn on 29 January 2014 - 08:39 PM

Dustin Byfuglien
Age 28
Height: 6-5 Weight: 265lbs
Shoots: R
NHL Seasons: 8

GP - 55
G - 12
A - 28
Pts - 40
+/- -16
Hits - 130

On contract till 2015-16 for 5.2 Million.

I'm not going to state what goes the other way as i don't want to speculate, but he is a player that I think could fit. Obviously we have to work on that +/-. He is under 30, shoots right, he is big, he has twice the hits of any Detroit dman. As demonstrated in the playoffs when Chicago won the cup the one year with him he can put up points and he absolutely dominated in front of the net in the playoffs that one year so he is versatile.

Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has been working the phones. The Jets are playing better under Paul Maurice, but they are still talking to teams about potential deals. Jets trade options include:Andrew Ladd, Evander KaneandDustin Byfuglien. The Jets may only move one of those players

He's also fat and bad defensively. I'd rather see one if our prospects up full time.

I don't see him back, I hate to say it. I don't know what will be done with him, but I don't believe he'll play again. I don't dislike the guy, so I hope I'm wrong.
