#2178591 Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

Posted by Andrew on 23 May 2011 - 05:09 PM

I have to check the CBA to be sure, but I do NOT believe the Wings will get all 6 million off the books.  Rafalski is retiring with a contract through this up coming season.  I believe that the remaining amount is spread out against the cap over a period of 3 years (may just be 2 though).  Thus, they may only get 4 million off the books (or maybe just 3 million, depending on the terms)

And, good luck finding a GM stupid enough to take Hudler and his 2.75 million contract off our hands.

Pretty sure you get it all back if the contract was signed prior to the player turning 35.

#2172228 Those Who Were at the Game --- Have You Ever Heard a Crowd So Loud?

Extremely loud but didn't reach the level of the last minutes of Game 5 in the 08 Finals (before they tied it). On par to the 5-0 win in the 09 Finals.

If Trevor Gillies ever plays a full NHL season he will destroy 300 PIM.

Schedule was made before both seasons started and there is probably something in the contract that can't change it during the seasons.

The best player out of the five, Stalberg.

Forbort and Doughty will be a hell of a pair in a few years.

Yeah, and Johnson will be on the Wings.

Im pretty sure a few years back the 5,6,7 and 8 seeds all won.  I cant remember if it was in the east or west though.

It was 06. We were the #1. Maybe all four will lose again and we'll have home ice to the finals.
