    TSN bashing the officiating

Oh yea, free screening of Cindy's shifts. Nice! Who wouldn't want that. How egotistical! I can't believe the TSN reporters said it was because of his "competitive nature". Even if that's true, shouldn't a great hockey player be able to tell what he does wrong from his tapes on his own? Some captain....

    TSN bashing the officiating

Although I'm not a huge on the conspiracy theory, I do love the intensity here! Kudos! There are a couple of good things to be taken form this whole situation: 1) IF the refs were wrong and informed the Pens of their too many men, they will not attempt such blatant preference again, not with millions of eyes watching tonight. With this news and video, along with Colin Campbell doing his best impression of an invertebrate a few days ago, people will be keeping a close eye on things. 2) The Wings lost by one real goal last game, and we came back to lead 2-1 after the Pens scored first in their home arena. The Wings have exposed the weak Pittsburgh D on quite a few occasions, and I expect that with Pasha back, we may see some indecent exposure of how the Pens D is like a sieve (see: Marc-Andre Fleury). We are clearly to better team, regardless of the loss, and regardless of any "conspiracy".

I dunno what he penalty is for "breaking a knob"( ), but man, that's just wrong. That should be a multiple game misconduct. At least this guy tried....

    I love Hockey Fans.

Tell that to my failing heart every time a Penguin takes a slapper from the point, or every time we can't clear the puck out of the zone. Adrenaline is the only thing keeping me alive during Wings playoff games! Great post, however, without the "jaded"-ness in sports, we'd all be sitting in a circle, singing "Kumbaya". Not gonna happen (friggin' hippies).

    Desk vandalism

You should get a pic of Hossa lifting the cup, blow pic up, about life size, and put it right on the bathroom doors at work. Then put a note saying "Bathroom of Champions: Winners Enter, Whiners Leave". To make it even more interesting, place a life size pic of Cindy crying afetr they lose on a supply closet, and call it "Time Out".

Whats up Detroit... Not a Pens or Wings fan

Although I can't stand the HUGE bandwagon mentaility of the hosers in Pitt-town, you gotta remember that their fanbase is still pretty young. Sure, 30+ years of having a hockey franschise should have given that town SOME development of hockey knowledge, but it's not a priority for them (until they win, of course). We've got it pretty well here in Detroit when it comes to sports lineage. We have 3 of the oldest franchises in their respective sports (Lions, Tigers, Red Wings), and it's easy to find people in their 70s who can recall games past and can tell you everything there is to know about the sport. Pittsburgh, however.... well, they think that Mario Lemieux invented the sport, so they're a bit pathetic. Besides, they have one of the most storied teams in the NFL with the Steelers. People in P-burgh are weened on Steelers football, whereas hockey is just an afterthought. I'm not supporting their ignorance: I'm merely explaining the reason for it, in my opinion. Either way, it's still sad. Every flippin' time they pan to a shot outside of Mellon Arena to show those n00bs celebrating, I always laugh, because I bet any money that half of those people still don't know what a two-line pass is, because it was nixed before they even watched a puck drop. The Wings need to win, not just for us LOYAL fans in Detroit, but also so I don't have to hear a bunch of crap about how Pittsburgh is the real "Hockeytahn" (idiots).

SCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Penguins 4

I'm not terribly worried. In the Ducks series (for the most part) and in the Chicago series (definitely), the Wings came back strong after a rough game (resulting in a loss) to take the next one. Also, you can't help but smile when you hear Dats will likely be back, if not for Game 4, then for Game 5. I also think we'll see better control in our own end, especially off the face-off in our own zone when Draper comes back. We missed him sorely (at least I did every time we lost a face-off in our own zone and I threw my hat at the TV). Game 4 should be ours, provided the refs can find their whistles (hint: they're the shiny metal objects in your hands; blow on them to make noise ).

2008 SCF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Penguins 2

Not to mention the ridiculous Channel 4 News Team and their assumptions before the game about having a "shiny friend" next to them after the game. IMO, NBC (Nothing But Crosby) needs to stick to what it knows best: crappy sitcoms, lame game shows, and the news.

2008 SCF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Penguins 2

I have a feeling that we're going to see a good, old-fashioned hockey game, with hard hits, long shifts, and no more of these BS calls by the refs. I say we're in for a tight one, going to the middle of the 3rd tied, but the Wings win! DET: 3 (Big Z, Lidstrom, Drake) PIT: 2 (Whiney Brat #1, Whiney Brat #2) Conn Smyth: Big Z (although the Wizard of Oz deserves it more, I feel)
