#2101646 Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

Posted by under_par_00 on 21 January 2011 - 03:33 AM

This guy would be an amazing addition. He is only 35 and left the NHL on a very good season. Over 10 NHL years with the Sharks his save percentage has been below .900 once and under .910 one additional time. Career totals of 0.912 regular season and believe it 0.913 post-season.

Not to mention Alfy doesn't play centre.

#2081259 Help with choosing tickets

I know at the Joe that the Wings always shoot twice at the same end every game. I assume all other arenas are like this (as a result of home bench and locker room layout).

Looks like in Tampa that the Wings will shoot twice at the end with sections 120-128. You can see on the seating map on Stubhub that it shows which side the Lightening will shoot twice.

#2066844 The Todd Appreciation Station

I always liked Bert as a Wing. I was happy when we signed him again because I had a real good feeling that on his end, he signed because he knew leaving was a mistake. Translation: he wouldn't be taking this for granted. He proved it last year and he's proving it even more this year. No better place than Detroit to find redemption and I hope he wins a Cup here. You can tell he's playing for that Cup, maybe this year even more than last. I love the effort he's made and I couldn't be happier to have him as a Wing.

This.

Bertuzzi has been fantastic this year, it seems he is really buying into the system, and getting very comfortable in his role. He is not floating in the defensive zone, and is playing a very solid 2-way game. You can tell that he is happy on this team, and he is motivated to win. I hope he can stay healthy and make an impact that he is capable of when it gets down to the nitty gritty.

#2065150 Jiri Hudler Watch Thread

Posted by under_par_00 on 19 November 2010 - 02:10 AM

Playing well my butt, he has looked at times like he is not interested in playing. Losing battles along the boards because he is weak and beaten to pucks because he is slow.

He is weak, and he is slow. But when he is determined to play well and has two linemates with him that can get him the puck, he is a very good playmaker. He cannot carry a line by himself, and sometimes this season it seems as though he hasn't been working hard.

So abdelkader is in for someone on third like (praise jesus). Question is who? I say sit modano. :runs:

I agree, sit Modano, I want to see Hudler - Abdelkader - Cleary

2 guys to grind it out and Hudler can float around waiting for another empty net to miss.

#2048946 Draper might need surgery; Johan Franzen practices

Posted by under_par_00 on 18 October 2010 - 12:35 PM

Why couldn't Draper be put on IR at the beginning of the season, and we could have kept Ritola around a little longer. Also possibly buy more time to work on a trade.

So cool how everyone watches Lidstrom skate in, then Kronwall nails that one timer into the back of the net!

#2044098 Filppula

Posted by under_par_00 on 11 October 2010 - 12:57 AM

Filppula can flat out fly on the ice. He is 2nd on the team in speed to Helm, and it's very close. If he and Franzen can stay healthy, they will tear apart every 2nd line in the league. 60+ points for Fil for sure. :siren:

theres a link to the after game interviews.. I have no clue what Pavel is saying lol.

Reporter: "Pavel, another game, another fight for you."

Pavel: "Ya, ya, I just keep rolling. Not like I win last year no Lady Byng, now I can open my mind more."

(Not like last year when I didn't win the Lady Byng...)

Reporter: "But Corey Perry is a big guy!"

Pavel: "Ya, everyone is a big guy in the equipment."

Hahahaha what a guy!

#2039874 Abdelkader nails Schenn and fights him

Posted by under_par_00 on 03 October 2010 - 01:04 PM

The homerism on these boards is out of control.

Abdelkader got beat up by a much bigger, stronger, and tougher Schenn. He was dizzy trying to pick himself up off the ice afterwards, and the ref had to help him onto his feet and maintain his balance. Schenn landed some bombs at the end of the fight if you watch closely. Nice try for Abdelkader, but he was simply outmached by a better fighter.

I'm not hating on Abdelkader, and I love the Wings, but I call it like it is.

#2036826 9/25 Pre-season GDT: Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks

Posted by under_par_00 on 25 September 2010 - 08:37 PM

Serioously Ericsson, go away.

If it wasn't for his size, he would've been ditched by now.

No wonder he was pick 291.

Kindl will win his spot this year, no doubt.

#2034301 Draper Pulls the ol' Groin

Posted by under_par_00 on 18 September 2010 - 06:37 PM

Could this be a stunt to get Draper's $1.5 mil off the books for a little while and open up space for Miller and Ritola to battle it out while Drapes sits on the IR?

#2028636 Huet loaned to Swiss team?

Posted by under_par_00 on 23 August 2010 - 04:26 PM

This is disappointing to see the Hawks get an extra $5+ mil in cap space.

I also posted this in the rumour mill.

#2016589 Pavel Datsyuk

Datsyuk is good.

I like this one.
