    Bert

I agree he is playing great ... I wasn't impressed with him than last time he was with the Wings, but this time he is playing great at both ends of the ice. Holmer is playing better this year too.

    Luongo Out

It wasn't any RedWing player who injured Lu as per the Globes report

    Wings to trade one defenseman

I highly doubt that will happen ... I could see him waiving it only for maybe San Jose (Cali teams)) I agree with you diehard ... Stuart was great in the playoffs and during the regular season. One or two mistakes shouldn't count against his entire play for the Wings. Some of these "arm chair coaches" sure don't seem to know much about it.

    Samuelsson Selling His House?

Good player in the defensive zone but offensively he seemed to lack confidence and coughed up the puck way too much.

    2009 NHL Entry Draft GDT

Red Wings picks Landon Ferraro in second round, 32nd overall In his second season in the Western Hockey League Ferraro led all Red Deer Rebels in goals (37) and assists (18) in 68 games, capturing the team's Most Valuable Player and the Leading Scorer award. Ferraro was selected to participate in the 2009 CHL Top Prospects Game and claimed the fastest skater title, winning the event with a fastest lap time of 14.009 seconds and edging out fellow prospect Cody Eakin of the Swift Current Broncos (14.011). Ferraro represented Team Canada at the 2009 Under-18 World Championships, recording four points (2-2-4) in five games. His previous international experience came from representing Team Pacific at the 2008 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge, finishing fourth. His father, Ray, played 18 seasons in the NHL (1984-2002 Tomas Tatar in second round, 60th overall. Playing for Slovakia at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ottawa is his most memorable hockey moment. Tatar was named Slovakia's Top Forward after leading his team and finishing tied for fourth overall with 11 points (7-4-11). He patterns his game after Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis -- "he is smaller than others, but strong with the puck. He has great hockey sense and scoring ability". Andrej Nestrasil in third round, 75th overall he Hockey News ranked Nestrasil 69th overall. The 6'2," 194-lb. left winger posted 57 points in 66 games for the QMJHL's Victoriaville Tigres, and Hockey's Future describes him thusly: Hockey's Future: Nestrasil's ability to make plays at high speed allows him to surprise his opponents and catch opposing defensemen flat-footed. At 6'2 and 194 pounds, Nestrasil has decent size, but he still has some work to do in adapting to the physical style in North America and playing a more complete game. The NHL had him ranked 131st among North American skaters. Gleason Fournier 90th overall Fournier posted 28 points in 66 games for Rimouski, and Hockey's Future describes him thusly: Hockey's Future: Talented offensively, the problem for Gleason Fournier is that he is a defenseman first and foremost, but sometimes he doesn't play like one. Able to make quick decisions with the puck and move it well, he sometimes struggles in his own end, especially when under pressure. A valuable tool on the power play, at 6'0 and 174 pounds, he would benefit tremendously if he can get larger and stronger on his skates in the coming years. The NHL had Fournier ranked 62nd overall among North American skaters, and, ironically enough, he's the second Red Wings fan the Wings have drafted today: June 24, NHL.com: In his second year in the QMJHL, Fournier recorded 28 points (3-25-28) from the blueline for the Oceanic in 66 games and participated in the 2009 Memorial Cup with Rimouski as the host team. Nick Jensen in fifth round, 150th overall a 6'1," 187-lb. defenseman from the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers, with their 5th-round pick, 150th overall. The NHL had Jensen ranked 120th overall, and they list him as having posted 22 points in 57 games with Green Bay. Jensen led the USHL with a +34 plus-minus rating, and the Western College Hockey blog reports that he'll play one more season in the USHL before committing to St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. scrapper Mitchell Callahan in sixth round, 180th overall a 5'11," 175-lb. right winger with the Kelowna Rockets, with their sixth-round pick in the NHL Entry Draft, 180th overall. Callahan posted 27 points in 70 games with Kelowna, and registered 188 penalty minutes--he's a fighter??? Strengths: Excellent fighter. Fearless style and works hard. Just enough skating and skill to be interesting. Weaknesses: Might not have the frame to play his style at the next level. Who'd have thought the toughest guy from the Dub in this year's draft would be from Southern California? The rugged style and fighting ability is the big draw here. But has just enough skating and skill to make for an intriguing middle round sleeper. Adam Almqvist in seventh round, 210th overall a 5'10," 169-lb. defenseman from HV-71 Jonkoping's junior team, in the seventh round of the NHL Entry draft, using their 210th and second-to-last pick.

Longshot but is it possible Penguins could match what Oilers

they've been coming out of the woodwork and invading all the RedWings forums since they won ONE measly little cup .. and I shouldn't say "won" they had it basically handed to them by Bettman and his cronies

since when is this a Pen's forum? whats with this we stuff with that being said I certainly don't think they are a dynasty nor will the be one any time soon. I doubt they'll be able to keep a lot of their players with the cap being what it is. but you can dream on all you want its just not realistic

hehe I bet Buttman just loved that hey. and Cherry too excuse me but do you even know what the word defense means? Green may be have been a good scorer this past year but he certainly isn't the best defenseman in the league and that is what the Norris is for ... Norris = Defense
