#2540671 Jeff Petry; trade between us and oilers

Posted by WingsallTheway on 14 October 2014 - 04:28 PM

I'd like to see Meyers swapped for Quincey and Kindl.

Id like to see Cleary and Weiss shipped for Crosby and Malkin

all Jimmy. Way to step up Howard.

A perfect shot by a great player and people are blaming Howard. That goal is all on Ericsson.

Its on fsd.
I'm honestly super excited for this game...
We get to watch the reunited kid line, see how well Weiss is coming along, we get to see the nose line which by all reports has been doing well, we get to see Callahan probably in a larger role, plus we get to see how cleary knees are doing..
Not to mention mrazek is starting and playing two full periods.
Even if we get messed up, that's a lot of regulars for the leafs and our best line is generally going to be our third line(hopefully).

I'm just excited hockeys back and being televised again...

#2537238 Datsyuk 2nd degree separated shoulder injury - out approx 4 weeks

Posted by Nightfall on 24 September 2014 - 08:21 PM

Every team is dealing with injuries on their rosters right now.

http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/injuries

I know everyone here is concerned or upset about the hit, but I look at teams like Carolina that lost Staal for a much longer period and acknowledge that injuries are part of the game.  The hit was clean, and there should be no suspension or fine.  Every team is going to deal with injuries, and the Wings are going to be no different.

Dats could be back in as early as 2 weeks which would make him a go for the start of the season.

I want hits, fighting just good oldschool hockey but I also want a team that sticks up for each other and some on ice police. Last season Pasha has been out with a concussion, this (early) pre-season with a seperated shoulder. Is it really that hard to understand that I want someone to keep the other team honest ?

Heck it doesn't even need to be a fight you check our star/young/small players hard we are going to do the same to you and here comes the problem...after Kronwall deleted Kronwalled from his dictionary the Wings aren't even doing that and it pisses me off. Scuderi is a big kid he can take a hard hit I admit he is very good at hitting hard and clean but that shouldn't exclude him from getting hit in the same manner too.

In that case I misunderstood what you meant. I'm all for hard hitting hockey. I love it. I live for it. I just hate the stupid revenge fights on clean plays.

#2536349 Ericsson and Alfredsson not 100%

Posted by darkmanx on 16 September 2014 - 05:40 PM

Wow that's a lot of taxes thats why you need a bunch of tax lawyers if you are that rich. If Alfie's back doesn't hold up anymore he should not risk injuring it further and just hang them up nothing against him, my favorite Senator of alltime.

Will be interesting to see if Jurco is ready to take the next step this season (I doubt it).

don't like that quote at all screams cocky :(

Screams confident to me.

#2536294 Dekeyser signed. 2 yrs $2.187 million AAV

Posted by DickieDunn on 16 September 2014 - 12:24 PM

This is ALL on Holland.  He cannot continue to believe that players should take discounts because "We Are Detroit" or they are local kids.  The ONLY players that come here for discounts or re-sign here anymore are players that either have had their longer career's here or players that cannot get signed ny anyone else, plus, for some reason, Holland OVERPAYS his useless vet's and low-balls his top talented RFA's when the market dictates otherwise.  Danny D should get and deserves to get paid like comparable RFA defensemen out there PLUS get paid better than players that are WORSE than he is.  There is no way Danny D should deservedly get less money than Kindl, Quincey OR Ericsson.  Way to treat one of the ONLY players to choose Detroit over everyone else, even if it meant passing up better places to play.  Way to show this kid, who is arguably the best defenseman you have on the team (or don't have yet) that you intend to make him feel wanted for life.  I don't blame Danny if he just hold's out as long as it takes to get a deal, then split when he is a UFA.  Holland continues to prove to everyone that his priorities are out of whack.  He needs to give Danny a similar contract to Gardiner and then deal with waiving Q or K if it comes down to re-signing Alfie at an over-inflated contract.  Danny D is going to be the leader of the future D-Corps, now is not the time to sour your relationship with him...and I wouldn't doubt that behind closed doors, the relationship is going south...I only wish my buddy still dated his sister maybe I could get some inside thoughts on their opinions of Holland's negotiation tactics now!

DD is an undrafted player with less than a full season's worth of games played who has limited offensive upside and still has work to do defensively and getting stronger. Those aren't the guys you sign to 6 year $30 mil contracts.

Dekeyser will be locked up long term, just depends on when; Wings Brass basically know is is the 2nd best d man on the team behind Kronwall, if not the best, and due to the teams current situation with lack of stability at D, they cannot afford to let him walk.

Definitely not better than kronwall, and it's up for debate if he's even Ericsson level quite yet. But he's definitely going to be a top pair guy soon.

KGrJA56V_normal.jpegThe Wheel Deal @Bill_Roose · 1h

With a logjam at centermen, #RedWings Mike Babcock said today that he plans to start Darren Helm at wing on Pavel Datsyuk's line.

So:

Z - Datsyuk - Helm
Franzen - Weiss - Nyquist
Tatar - Sheahan - Alfie?
Abby - Glendening - Miller

Scratch - Andersson, Cleary

LOL people were mad about Abby up there? My god helm is an even worse idea with Abby. Look at the bright side? Helm will be injured quickly and jurco will then be called up!!!!

#2535268 Wings re-sign Cleary $1.5 mill + $1mill in game bonuses

You left out the part where you went running after him, pen and paper in hand, screaming "Danny, Danny!" trying to get an autograph.

We know how much you love your Danny Cleary.

I thought this thread was about Alfie?

Don't be ridiculous, all threads are about Cleary.

#2534274 Holland signs 4 year extension with wings **MOD Warning Post 130**

Posted by Nightfall on 14 August 2014 - 05:23 PM

That's a pretty easy challenge for you to win considering you never really know who is on the market as a GM until they take a job somewhere.

This is true to some extent.  However, lets look at some of the people whom some fans wanted as GM of the Wings instead of Holland.

Yzerman - So far, he has done well at Tampa Bay.  Their roster this year looks better than last year.  Except since he took over, they made the playoffs their first year, missed the second year and third year, and then made it last year only to get swept in the first round.  Better than Holland?  That remains to be seen.

Ray Shero would be the only guy I would even consider being GM of the Wings.

Nothing screams job accountability like giving an extension to a guy that's gotten consistently worse at his job each year in the last 5 years.

That pizza selling vegetable Ilitch needs to sell the team to someone who still gives a s***.

So you don't believe in job accountability?

Just because someone was good 10 years ago, shouldn't give them a pass to be lazy at their current job.

If his job is to ensure that we have a competitive team that competes for a championship every season, he has achieved his goal.

If you are measuring accountability by championship or nothing, then there are 29 other GMs who are also failing.
