#2191088 Cam Barker on waivers

There is no re-entry waivers during the off-season. Have to be able to assign a player to the AHL (and he has to report) in order to place him on re-entry waivers and you can't do that until training camp.

well there is a catch... As long as our offer is below 7.8 million then we would give up only 2 1st round picks and a 2nd and a 3rd. Yes that is a still a steep price but I highly doubt we draft a Doughty character with the 3rd and 2nd and if we stay competitive our 1st round picks will be 25 and later. This isn't like the leafs giving up a the picks and getting the 2nd overall pick. I say we offer him around 7 and either jack the price up on LA or we get him and he is our Lidstrom replacement 1 year ahead of time. Lidstrom, Doughty, Kronwall, Stuart as our top 4. That would be AMAZING!!!

It would have to be an absolutely insane offer for L.A. to let him go. It's a pipe dream to expect him to leave for another team via offer sheet.

Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos just tweeted that Brian Rafalski will retire this week.

In a surprise if not shocking move sources tell Sportsnet the #RedWings will announce retirement of D Brian Rafalski as early as this week.

#2130072 Share of Leafs for sale

Why would they want to sell? The on-ice product isn't successful but that shouldn't really matter from a business stand-point...

They got in for $50 million and they're getting out for over $1 billion. I'd say they've maximized the investment.

yeah kenny really wanted this kid wonder if hell make a move and put him in GR

He'd have to claim him and then put him right back on waivers.

#2031804 Meech on waivers

Posted by MacK_Attack on 08 September 2010 - 12:58 PM

Agreed, there's no room for him here, but the guy deserves a chance to play night in and night out in the NHL... good luck Meech! I don't know why, but I imagine him ending up in Philly... no rhyme or reason behind that, just a gut feeling...

I don't think Philly needs a 9th defenceman.

#2031512 NHL.com ranks Hockey's best by their numbers.

Posted by MacK_Attack on 07 September 2010 - 11:40 AM

I have no idea how they picked Satan over Hossa. And this comment is strange "by far the highest scoring player ever to wear number 81." by far? Really? He and Hossa actually have the same number of goals and Hossa actually has more points. Hossa has also played over 200 fewer games.

Hossa wore #18 in Ottawa, Atlanta & Pittsburgh though.

Kind of a difficult topic because Chelios is apparently the best to wear #24, but arguably spent his best years wearing #7 in Chicago.
