#2371095 Trade Kronwall?

Posted by Red Crazy on 19 March 2013 - 04:19 PM

Smith has the upside of Kronwall, maybe a little better. Kronwall is a #2 guy on a Cup team. That said Smith was not, or should not have been, expected to be a #2 guy this year and probably not even next year.

Agreed. I think both Kronwall and Smith need hard hitting, solid,  stay at home d partners to get the most from their games. Like Stuart was for Kronner. Maybe Smid would be a good pick up for a partner for Smith? Dump Colo and Q.

Gary Lawless reported tonight that the Wings have shown interest in Buff. I also agree with the OP.

#2368886 Babcock: Is he the right guy going forward?

Posted by Red Crazy on 13 March 2013 - 11:39 PM

This thread is rediculous!  Babcock is what is keeping this team as competative as they are.  THIS is what happens when Big E is one of your top pairing D Men & Big E & Quincy together consume 7 million.  Is Holland the right GM going forward?  That is the question Devilano & Mr. I better be asking.  He had years to plan for this & he DID NOT!  This is what happens when your forwarwards have to play D & don't have the benefit of of being committed forwards.

Agreed 110%. I don't agree with what Babs puts out on the ice but Holland is to blame for the s***ty contracts and lack of talent. Holland was betting on the big fish last year Parise and Suter and missed all the horses that would have worked well. Then he panicked and signed scrubs for not one but two freeking years.

#2368882 3/13 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Flames 5

Monster was awful. The defense is the problem, they can't move the puck out of the zone clean......ever. passes into skates, passes to far in front or behind. Kronwall stinks and the rest are very very ugly to watch. There are so many small things wrong with this team that it's hard to know what needs to be fixed the most. Babcock and Holland need their heads examined for the contracts that they handed out. Abby, Colo, Sammy, Mule are all mistakes.

Tatar busts his ass and gets sent down.

#2356421 Time to sit Ian White

Posted by Red Crazy on 16 February 2013 - 03:15 PM

I think Huskins should be paired with Kronner. Kronner has played at his best when paired with a stay at home d-man (Stuart) This allows Kronner to jump up into the play and make some big hits. Kronwall looks lost without Stuart and Huskins is probably as close to his style as well have so pair them up. White does not seem to have chemistry with anyone at this point. The thought of Colo and him paired together sends chills up my spine. I have my doubts that Babs will scratch him though.

#2355516 Jordin Tootoo

Posted by Red Crazy on 14 February 2013 - 02:05 PM

Like him or hate him the Wings needed a player like him on this team. If he chips in a few points, keeps the flies off, and rattles the teeth of some d-men on the fore check then what more do you want.

#2342206 1/19: Red Wings 0 at St. Louis Blues 6

Posted by Red Crazy on 19 January 2013 - 10:06 PM

Did we not see this coming? Holland did nothing to replace those that left. He picked up scraps that nobody wanted. Brunner might be able to make it in this league if he has some size on his line but the DZB 1st line is getting pushed around like they are kids by the Blues. Mule looks like the lazy sob he was last year, Cleary can not stand up and takes dumb ass penalties when he does, and don't even get me started on the D as theyf****** suck. Howard is playing his ass off as usual and appears to be the only Wing that has any heart. Emmerton and Mursak don't belong in the NHL period. Abby and Tootoo are to afraid to go out and kick some ass.

Ken Holland and co s*** the bed this off season by not making this team better. I know they did try but their job IS to make it better or fail. They failed. Every team in their division is better, yes even CBJ and the Red Wings are not and in fact they are going backwards.

This is just one game and not worth throwing in the towel yet but I think we have been so happy to get hockey back that we have forgot the hole that this team was left after last year.

#2320958 Doan staying in PHX 4 yrs $21.2 mill

Posted by Red Crazy on 22 July 2012 - 08:50 AM

I think maybe they should let Babcock hand out the money lol. Kenny is being too tight with his offers. It is not as easy to attract players here as it was a few years ago when the Wings were Cup favorites every year. Not that I want him to do something stupid but come on make a move to better this team already! I have a feeling Doan will not be a Wing.

#2320875 Patrick Kane at it again

Posted by Red Crazy on 21 July 2012 - 12:18 PM

I think this type of behavier goes on a lot more then we realize with NHL players. These ARE kids blowing off steam. Should Kane know better? Yep. He seems to be a bit of a slow learner. The problem I see with him is that he tends to party with regular joes that love nothing more then to take pictures of him him wasted. Dude, grab some of your buddies that you trust and rent a cabin somewhere and get at it if you want. In a world full of social media and cell phone cameras you have to be a lot more careful then he is being.

#2319896 Could trade rumors spark Franzen?

Posted by Red Crazy on 18 July 2012 - 05:59 PM

Guess we'll just have to suffer with a 4 million dollar 30 goal scorer.

At least we aren't Columbus and have to pay 7.5 million for a 30 goal scorer.

I can bet that Franzen's totals would be not so great if he played for the CBJ. Nash would pot 40-50 goals with Pavel.

#2319775 Semin

Posted by Red Crazy on 18 July 2012 - 12:52 PM

Can you imagine the amount of lazy a line with both Franzen and Semin would have? Thats a whole lot of lazy.

#2317553 How bad are we if our roster is now finalized?

Posted by Red Crazy on 09 July 2012 - 10:14 PM

He could have Fu*ked himself Royally by overpaying for Suter and Parise like the Wild did.

In all fairness, he tried to. Ken Holland is not smart because he knew better then to sign Parise and Suter to a long huge contract. He lost out because they wanted to play in Minny. He tried and failed remember that.

#2317322 How bad are we if our roster is now finalized?

Posted by Red Crazy on 09 July 2012 - 01:01 PM

I agree. That is not a playoff team. Add in an injury or two along the way and that team could be in big trouble. I am starting to panic a bit but if this is the team that Ken Holland is "happy with" to start the season then perhaps he should go.

#2315556 The Ever-Increasing Cap, Ridiculous Contracts, and Hitting

Posted by Red Crazy on 05 July 2012 - 09:04 AM

The owners and players are going to handcuff themselves yet with these huge contracts. I for one think that the league should reject all contracts over 5 years. Players would then have to earn their paychecks based on performance not by ufa class. The owners would also have to use their heads when signing contracts. Suter and Parise are not worth anywhere near the money they got. Crosby signed a long term when one more hit could end his career. Players are greedy and the owners are stupid. have we really gone anywhere since the last lockout?
