#2311586 Ilitch, Chelios to fly to Suter, Holland to fly to Parise

Posted by RedWingsRox on 01 July 2012 - 01:34 AM

First time I ever heard us sending out a contingent of people to woo free agents. This must be serious. Why don't we send Gordie Howe?

#2311318 i hope we dont panic if suter and parise signs elsewhere

Sorry but your post doesn't help ... I will be terribly upset if we don't get some UFA especially to help with our blue line. We've got some pretty big holes to fill there with Lids and Stu gone. AND I will be pretty upset if we just fill our holes with middle level players like Quincey. We need a stud defencemen or two.

Let's hope this clown from SI is right:

Zach Parise, New Jersey Devils
Best fit: Los Angeles Kings
Where I think he'll sign: Detroit

Ryan Suter, Nashville Predators
Best fit: Carolina Hurricanes
Where I think he'll sign: Detroit

#2309263 Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans

Great job on our scouting team to unearth skill and talent from other sources. Everyone knows that we were known for finding talent in Sweden by having a designated scout there. Now that Russia and Sweden have been tapped, let's find all the gems in Switzerland, Belarus, Africa, China, Australia, India ...

#2309087 Jordan Staal traded to Carolina, signs 10-yr, $60m extension

You got to hand it to the GM's of Pitts and Carolina ... Lebrun reported that they started chatting at 4:00 pm and by 7:00 pm, deal was done. You gotta like how quickly some GM's get things done.

#2309037 2012 NHL Entry Draft Discussion

Did Holland and management team even bother to show up at draft center today or will they show up tomorrow?

^ there goes that good idea of signing Stewart.

#2306427 Brad Stuart's rights traded to San Jose

Posted by RedWingsRox on 10 June 2012 - 07:02 PM

7th round in 2014 plus a dud ... OK, I know it was only for 3 weeks of negotiating rights but better than nothing. I think it was just a classy gesture by the Wings who wants the best for Stuart. Bad thing is we will play him what 6 times in a year? SJ just got a bit better and we got a lot worst in the last 2 weeks.

#2306425 Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

Offer him something reasonable, if he wants to test market ... let him. More money for Parise.

#2304131 Nick Lidstrom retires after 20 seasons

Will Holland keep his word and announce his retirement as well?

#2303247 Hasek wants to play in the NHL again

We try to sign Hasek ... but damn, NY Islanders claim him first.

#2300704 The Astuteness of Paul Holmgren.

"His job is to stop pucks and help us win games," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. "It's not Comedy Central."

Actually, the only reason why I watch the Flyers is for the comedy.

It feels so good to see Nashville lose !!!

Bettman makes special announcement, we have a buyer for the team then I hope team goes out there and just put Nashville out of their misery, win this and be done with it. Suter sweepstakes begin. Bonus if anyone can rub Weber's head into the boards, maybe Torres should have done in that last game of his.

Hard to believe, thought that Boston would pull through but kudos to Holtby.
