What a weak Penalty Shot call ... FU stupid ref, decide it on a weak lame call!

#2119646 Bettman threatens Edmonton.

Buttman is an arse. First Canadian city that looks like they need a stadium, he threatens some sort of move. Meanwhile Buttman never suggests huting teams in US cities like Atlanta, & Phoenix to move. Shut the **** up!!

#2116283 Isles vs Pens

Wow ... NYI 7, Buf 6 ... 2 players with hatrick.
Penguins lose to NYR.
Whatever you think about the Islanders ... they are a fun bunch to watch lately.
Islanders > Penguins

Does this really deserve a separate thread? :ranting:

#2105373 If Lidstrom retires....

Posted by RedWingsRox on 26 January 2011 - 10:09 AM

Surprised no one put forth the next one ... Shea Webber. Restricted FA next year, UFA the following one.
If Lidstrom stay one more year, then we have a gentleman's agreement with Webber for 2012-2025.

#2103535 Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

Posted by RedWingsRox on 22 January 2011 - 06:01 PM

Okay, don't say I'm never an optimist: if Nabs is put back on waivers, maybe him refusing to report to the Isles will discourage other teams from claiming him, knowing that there's a good chance he won't play for them, either. Of course, that wouldn't deter San Hose-a from claiming him and suspending him just to tick us off, but hey, it might make other teams who want him to play think twice. File this under: It Could Happen.

If San Jose did that, they would be seen as the ultimate dick and cry-baby ... their reputation would go down the toilet for agents, players, and other GM's. McLellan won't screw his old employers like that but it isn't up to him. Wilson, you let him go so now let him sign with another team. Don't worry Sharks, you might not even make it to playoffs this year so you won't have to worry about facing us.

Almost a short-handed if it wasn't for the newly inspired Jimmeh.

Boooing Hossa ... love it.

Wings sign Nabby ...
NJ claims him and tries to trade him and must put him on waivers
NYI claims him and tries to trade him and must put him on waivers
Leafs claim him and tries to trade him and must put him on waivers ...
x26 teams ... all the way up to the Wings and we finally sign him ... :D

#2100895 Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

Posted by RedWingsRox on 20 January 2011 - 07:52 PM

Maybe Kenny was kind of bored today at the office ... nothing much to do, no contracts to work on. He's thinking, "If we get him we get him, if we lose him, it took me and my staff 1/2 day of work." Why not generate a bit of buzz on LGW and TSN ... to remind everyone that I am still the Jedi Master :D

#1990049 The Curse of Marian Hossa

Posted by RedWingsRox on 26 May 2010 - 03:37 PM

I was just reminded that Hossa 'took' 7.5 mill from us last year and didn't show up at the playoffs. I know, he had surgery afterwards and that he was injured but hell, that is Lidstrom money. Why are people so enamoured by him? Hossa, along with Luongo and Lacavalier are probably the most overrated and overpaid players in the NHL. He's about a point a game player ... certainly not worth $7+ mill/yr. Sorry ... no cup for you ... we give it to Philly and Leino.

#1985538 Boston/Philly Game 7

Who the hell did we get in return for Leino?
Would he have helped us out with one or two goals here and there and maybe change the outcome of our series with SJ?
Is Kenny kicking himself?

#1983901 Luongo Not the Answer for Vancouver

Posted by RedWingsRox on 12 May 2010 - 02:45 PM

Yo, I live in Vancouver too and it is nauseating to hear the mantra, 'Best goalie in the world'. If Luongo is the best goalie in the world, then Jimmy Howard must the best goalie in the universe or at least in our solar system. Howie was far better than Lui in regular season and playoffs and his is 1/10th of Luongo's salary. Regardless of how much I don't like the Canucks, I actually felt bad for Luongo last night not because he was hung out to dry per se but because he should have played the last 40 mins like the first 20 to give his team a chance. Even down 2-0 ... not insurmountable but down 3-0 on a shorty that was weak ??

What shocked me was that Samuelsson, the guy who they brought in to be cool, calm, and collect supposedly learnt from the Wings lost it ... hooking/cross checking, misconduct basically putting the Canucks down a player for 4 mins with about 7.5 mins left in the game. Very uncharacteristic of Sammy.

#1983254 Howard injured?

Posted by RedWingsRox on 11 May 2010 - 12:40 AM

People ... Howard was the BEST thing that emerged this season.
Nothing came even close. Take that to the bank.
Without Howie, we'd be in like 15th place in the Western Conference.
And in the bigger picture of things ... we got ourselves a keeper.
