This has definitely been another successful reclamation project for the wings. This thread has been going on for two years with nothing but good reviews of Eaves play. Here's to three more years of me posting his stats and talking about how awesome he is. :beerbuddy:

Honestly, there is nothing to dislike about this signing. Val's brother cost almost nothing to gain a player with some obvious offensive potential, even if it's only to play with the kids in GR. What's the worst that can happen? He plays terrible and returns back to Finland while we lose nothing. What's the best that can happen? He plays solid in the preseason and provides some decent offense while invigorating his brother. What will probably happen? He'll spend the season in Grand Rapids and help the offensively starved Griffins score some points. No downside.

Datsyuk won't win for the following reasons:

A.Lack of blocked shots
B.Lack of penalty kill time
C.Won the award twice in a row
D.He's having a down year offensively
E.Kesler has all the hype from the media and the Olympics only bolstered him.
F.Media isn't behind Datsyuk this time around.
G.Too many perceived struggles from Datsyuk and the Wings as a whole.

For all these reasons Kesler will win the award instead of Datsyuk whether I agree with the decision or not.
