I really want to resond to this thread but I'm pretty supersticious and don't want to Jinx anything so I'll just so Let's Go Detroit Red Wings!!!!

VM, BigWillie, and Stuck: All 3 of your comments make me see what the playoffs are all about and how everyone does indeed come from different walks of life and I don't think any opnion is a wrong opnion becasue that is what it is your opnion. The playoffs is what September is all about and you do play for the chance to still be playing in June and win that Cup. I to am a person that takes the Wings winning and losing personal, becasue to mee it isn't just a game. If you look at it from the players point of veiw this is their lives and their jobs it's what they work all year long for to stay in shape and stay in the NHL so it isn't just a game so I get what you are ALL saying. Maybe one day I'll change the way I feel about when is my favorite time of the season. Nice job everyone!!

You can definetly count me in, I'll do all that I can. I hate the NHL and what it does to the Detroit Red Wings. I've been believing that the NHL has been against the Wings for a long time. My best example is Game 1 or 2 of the 09 Stanley Cup Finals which I taped most of and afther Bettman's interveiw with Mickey and Ken Bettman is sitting in his seast at the Joe and at that point it's either 2 or 3-0 Wings and Bettman just looks like he is seething. I mean you could fry Sunday morning breakfast on top of his head he looks so pissed. So I'll do what I can and help the Wings gain respect from the NHL.

I got my hat and my jersey that I always wear for the playoffs and my playoff towel, got my playoff beard going, and got both of my Wings tatts shined up and looking good so I'm ready!! Let's Go Red Wings!!!!

After beating the Minnesota Wild 4-1 the Detroit Red Wings have clinched the Central Division. Now I know this is almost a common thing for this team but I just wanted to mentioned this because even though it's not a Stanley Cup or anything right now I feel it is something for the Wings to build on and gain confidence going into the playoffs. For a team that has seen it's fair share of ups and downs this season being Divisional Champions is a great step forward. I'm not going to commit to any comment about what the team is going to do in the playoffs this season. Of course I want another Stanley Cup in Hockeytown after all I did just get my second Detorit Red Wings Tattoo this time on my right arm (sorry just had to say something about that) there are still a lot of things I think the team needs to improve on going into the playoffs if they are going to have a true chance to get the Cup this season. I think being Central Division Champions again is a step in the right direction and if the Wings can just get better in certain areas they will be contenders and hopefully be more than just Division Champions this season. Let's Go Red Wings!!

I'm just glad to see him in a Red Wings Jersey but yes I do think he is beter suited as a Wing and I do hope that he can stay there.

Evgeni Nabokov is sticking by his initial  decision to not join the New York Islanders, the veteran goalie said  Sunday.

"I think I'm going to stay home for now, I'm sticking with my  decision," Nabokov told ESPN.com from his home in San Jose. "It's nothing  against the Islanders and their organization. It's nothing to do with that. It's  just that I'm at the point in my career where I want to help a team win in the  playoffs. I don't see how I could help the Islanders or what I could do for  them. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And I hope they understand  that."

The Islanders claimed Nabokov off waivers from the Detroit Red  Wings on Saturday, the team that he signed with Thursday. Because he began the  season in the Russia's KHL, the rules required that he clear waivers before  trying to join the Red Wings.

"I understand the rules," said Nabokov, who  signed a one-year, $570,000 deal with the Wings. "We're not stupid, we knew what  was going on before we made the decision. But I made this decision because the  goal was to play with Detroit."

On Saturday, Islanders general manager  Garth Snow told ESPN.com that he wanted to talk to Nabokov before deciding his  next move and said he had left Nabokov a message to call him.

"I want to  clear something up," said Nabokov. "Everybody wrote that Garth Snow left me  messages. I have no messages on my phone from him. I didn't talk to him. So I  want to clear that up. He may have tried to reach me but there's no message from  him. I still haven't talked to him."

Reached via text message Sunday,  Snow told ESPN.com things were "status quo."

So what now?

The  Islanders can suspend Nabokov for not reporting. They can also put him back on  waivers with the intention of trying to trade him, although it's highly doubtful  he would clear waivers before a trade could be done. Nabokov also has a  no-movement clause. It's complicated.

"I don't know what's going to  happen," said Nabokov. "I just hope they will understand where I'm coming from.  That's all."

Nabokov said he hasn't skated in a while and needs time to  get ready.

"Detroit was willing to give me that time," said Nabokov. "I'm  not sure if other teams would be ready to give me that time. So that's why I  made my decision. Detroit was willing to wait while I got ready. With the  Islanders, if I went there, I would need a week or two to get ready and then the  season would almost be over."

So for now, he doesn't plan on reporting to  the Islanders.

Good for you Nabokov, stand up for what you beleive and stand up for what you want to do. His resoning is clear and I quite agree with it. After he had the time to get ready for to play and got back up to speed with the Islanders the season would just about be over and he would have only played a few games thus not really providing any value or good use. It doesn't sound like Nabokov will be able to come to Detroit unless they make a trade and I'd hate to see the Wings lose a Draft pick for a goalie like Nabokov when it could be put to use with drafting another player to make Detroit a deeper team. I'd rather see the Wings make another attempt with another goalie or trade a current player. The waiver rule really needs to be changed to avoid all of this mass confusion from happening again.

I'm gonna try to make this the last thing I post on this subject and it relates to the person saying that if Nabokov didn't reprot to Detroit we'd  want his head on a platter or whatever. First I don't see Detroit doing that to another team call me bias but I can't see Ken Holland doing something like that. Secondly and this may be the weaker argument but I also can't see to many players not wanting to come to Detorit so I don't think not reporting would even be a thought but I could be wrong once again chalk it up to me being a Wings Fan. Nabokov want's to be in Detroit no offense to the Islanders but they are in a rebuilding stage right now and for a goalie like Nabokov I can't see where he would have a good place with the organzation anyways. Suspending him would be stupid becasue then no on gets him and it's a waste. Granted the Islanders played by the rules to get Nabbs but it is an underminded way to get him. What type of publicity is the NHL getting on this situation?... I would assume negative this hurts the league and the teams that are involved and it story like this don't reach out to other fans so it's not like it's doing this league any good. This is one of the many rules I personally think need to be changed along but now its not the time or place to start discussing a bunch of rule changes. Sorry for rambling and going on so but this has now turned into somewhat of a ticking time bomb that really doesn't favor anyone involved. We fans are getting into with each other and other teams fans mostly NY Islanders and I would proabably assume that Holland has been on the phone trying to figure out all of this and what Detroit's next step is. Do the Wings wait and see if this all pans out and there is a slim possibility we get Nabokov or do they right away start looking else-where?? Is Detroit fine with what goalies we do have or not? So really this what started out to be a glimmer of hope to help the Detorit Red Wings out with all the injuries has now become a sea of negativity for everyone involved. They days to come should be very interesting.

Meant to get back on here sooner but I was busy the past week. Playing at the Joe was an unbeleiveable experience. There was nothing like skating right out to the center ice Hockeytown Logo and touch it with my hand. I wish I could say the game was a success for my team but we played a team from Fraser that was an all adult team against a few of our kids and the rest were our adult team and the team from Fraser had been playing together for years so my team lost 9-0 we only got one shot on goal. The whole days was a blast. Watching both teams practice in the morning was great. Being in the basement of the Joe where our locker rooms were was AWESOME!! Seeing all the names and years of the Championship Teams  on the wall was soo cool. Seeing the Stock room where all the Merchandise was kept than after the game both teams and families when to the Manhattan Room in the Joe and had Pizza for Dinner and staying in the room until the game seeing all the cool photos and memorbilia on the walls. Than whlie we were still in waiting for the doors to open a few of the players came through the room, I got to shake Zetterberg's, Helm's MacDonald,s and Cleary's hand was just fantastic and then of course having the Wings win just topped off a great day and wonderful experience!! It's something that will stick with me forever.

I'll believe it when I see it but it would be good to get him out of the NHL.

My Sled Hockey team got invited by the Detroit Red Wings to come watch them Practice tomorrow Saturday Oct 30 we also get to play a game vs another Sled Hockey Team at the Joe. After that we all get tickets to see the Wings play the Preds tomorrow as part of the Detroit Red Wings Disabled Hockey Night. My whole team and I have been very excited about getting this Oppertunity. It's really cool that we get to play on the same ice as our NHL Heroes. Going to be a fun day!! Hope to see the Wings pull out a Victory Vs Nashville tomorrow. Go Red Wings!!

How stupid and *** is that. When was the last time a Red Wing was on one of those games by EA Sports un NHL 97 if I'm not Mistaken. It doesn't even have to be a Red Wing there are a ton of other great players that deserve a Cover Shot Oppertunity.
