The tears of the haters sustain me. Their anguish is like a cool drink on a sweltering day. They are the Charlie Brown to our Lucy, we'll always keep pulling the football away while they continue thinking the next time will be different.
In listing the ways Chicago has blatantly ripped off the Wings, you all forgot to mention their style of play. They draft Kane and Toews (Datsyuk and Zetterberg, anyone?), then add Hossa. They change to a puck possession style of play and mimick virtually everything the Wings did for years.
They really are like a jealous little brother, only no one ever calls them out on it except for Wings fans. Bums.
For the last 15yrs or so, probably longer, the Wings have been the cream of the NHL. What stuns me is why someone hasn't tried to play the way we do sooner.
I find Hawkeytown a pretty clever play on words. Of course their blowing up due to the cap has made my summer.
But Chicago didn't beat Detroit on the road to winning their Cup, now did they? That's got to sting a bit. Winning once is tough; winning in consecutive seasons is tougher still. Just ask our "friends" in Pittsburgh.
Yep, and Joel still hasn't beat us either.
I congratulate them, it's good for hockey when any Original 6 wins the cup. I will also enjoy watching them implode from the cap too.
He is viewed as smug, arrogant and classless... when citizens of his OWN country burn his picture, in the same year that he was on a gold medal Olympic team , I think it speaks volumes of how he is viewed by majority of NHL fans...
The NHL needs to hitch it's horse to someone else, and FAST, while it still can...
Your basing this off a city that loots and riots when their team wins a conference semi-final? Not a conference final, not a Stanley Cup but a semi-final?
Freud would have a field day around this joint. It's bordering on irrational. So are Montreal fans by the way.
Saturday afternoon in '65, a kid of 12 chewing a stick of Beemens gum, got a Koufax BB card in the spokes of my bike(who farking knew back then)and a transistor radio hanging off my bicycle handlebars listening to the Tigs. Summer vacation just started and I got nothing but time.
I didn't have internet porn or video games when I was a kid but I had Ernie. I think I got the better deal growing up.
