#2003474 2010 NHL Awards Show

Posted by hooon on 23 June 2010 - 06:46 PM

congrats Myers. And great job Jimmy on a great season.

Seriously tho... this host guy is just embarrassing the NHL. I'd be more embarrassed by all of this if I knew people were actually watching.

YAYYYYY DATSYUK! WOOOOOO. CONGRATS!!!! they should change it to the Datsyuk Trophy. Epic speech. His english has really.... improved.

Wow. This is already sooo terrible. This host might be the most annoying ******* I've ever had to watch. This whole process just makes a huge joke out of the NHL.

#2002787 Do Wings fans want another Yzerman?

Posted by hooon on 22 June 2010 - 04:42 PM

Wings have no shortage of leadership in the locker room. In fact, as far as leadership goes, we probably have more than any other team in the league. Some of them are vocal, some lead by example.

I would love another Yzerman, but we all know its kind of impossible. For one, I don't see us getting any top 5 overall picks any time soon (I hope), and also, I think we got pretty lucky with Yzerman, having him turn out the way he did.

I think Z will make for a great captain, and will lead very similarly to how Lids did.

#2002549 Sakic vs Yzerman Debate

Posted by hooon on 22 June 2010 - 12:50 PM

Seems like everyone there just based their answer off of who had more points. Everyone knows Yzerman took a step back in his point production in order to become a solid player defensively, I cannot say the same for Sakic. I also think those results might be skewed simply based on the fact that other than Wings fans, most other NHL fans seem to dislike the Wings for one reason or another, while the Aves never really received the universal jealousy/hatred.

Sakic is great, so is Yzerman, and their strengths and skill sets are completely different. Its true I'm biased as well, but I'd choose Yzerman all day long.

Gritty FA, Draper, Ritola

I wouldn't mind that one bit.

I still say the hit on Booth is dirty.

#1999692 somehow, we need to get a scoring third line center...

I'll play too, I'm not driving.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like:

#1999556 Pronger Responds

Posted by hooon on 14 June 2010 - 05:15 PM

I've never hated Pronger as much as others do, I've always thought he had a pretty great sense of humor. Sure I hate it when the Wings play against him, but the guy is one of the best.

I loved the comments, they were spot on. Burish really shouldn't be saying that right AFTER the series. If anything, say it before or during the series, pretty cowardly to call a guy out right after you know you wont play him again for a very long time, maybe ever.

#1999016 Kane and Byfuglien joke around

Posted by hooon on 13 June 2010 - 03:15 PM

LOL @ this.

Some people on here amaze me. He's just having some good fun on a bad situation that he never ended up getting sentenced on btw. You know, if he beat the s*** out of the cabby he might have actually got prosecuted lolololol

Some people are soooooooooo sour over Chicago winning the Cup, f*** i love it.

Lol at people who still defend these actions. Pathetic. Having good fun? Nothing says fun like getting arrested for theft and battery!

Btw him not getting sentenced doesn't mean he didnt do it. Luckily he is able to afford expensive lawyers and settle out of court, which is essentially the legal version of a bribe. There was never any doubt that he DID in fact do it, hes just a rich athlete, thats why he wasn't sentenced. But as you say... it was just good fun!

#1998938 Kane and Byfuglien joke around

Posted by hooon on 13 June 2010 - 11:18 AM

I didn't think the comments were funny at all. So now that he's a cup winner its okay to joke about how he beat the s*** out of an old man over 20 cents? I'm all good with people poking fun at themselves and having a laugh, but he isn't make fun of himself hes simply making light of the situation, almost like he's bragging about it.

The Chicago fans are stupid and impressionable enough as it is, they don't need to be egged on.

#1998612 Salary Cap rewards for cup finalists

Posted by hooon on 12 June 2010 - 12:39 PM

I was looking at the hawks cap situation yesterday... they are honestly more screwed than I could have ever hoped. Assuming no one buys out Campbell and Huet's contract, they literally have NO room to sign their remaining roster spots. It's gonna take a big trade or two just to clear enough room to fill out their roster.

Even though the Wings offseason is shaping up to be a boring one, we all know it'll still be really exciting to watch the Hawks dismantle.

#1994829 Great or Bust?

Posted by hooon on 05 June 2010 - 12:20 PM

Surely there must be something in between Great and Bust. There are more than just great and terrible players in this league.

#1994461 Which defunct team would you like to see make a comeback?

Posted by hooon on 04 June 2010 - 07:16 PM

Definitely the Whale.

I grew up in CT and my first NHL games were always in Hartford. It was a great place to see a game, and they even had some good players.

#1991815 SCF Game Two GDT

Posted by hooon on 31 May 2010 - 02:45 PM

chicago needs to win the cup for 4 reasons.

1 - they're my 2nd favorite team behind the wings.
2 - so pronger doesn't lay his filthy hands on the cup again.
3 - so the leafs are the team with the longest stanley cup drought in the NHL
4 - so toews brings the cup to winnipeg who sorely needs something hockey related to cheer about.
