#2189681 2011 NHL Draft: Rounds 2-7 Discussion

Posted by stuck in socal on 25 June 2011 - 12:36 PM

Go check HFBoards right now and see who they said the steal of the draft was last year, I'll give you a hint It starts with Teemu and ends in Pulkkinen. Check out this years "steal of the draft", I'll give you a hint, his name starts with Marek and ends with Tvrdon.

Wings certainly got height and size this year, can't wait to see what people complain about next year.

Teemu Pulkkinen is injury prone last time I checked. I just don't agree on calling these young players steals of the draft when they haven't played in the NHL for a few years even. Get back to me in 10 years when these steals are tearing it up in the NHL and winning championships for the Red Wings. More than likely, out of all these steals, maybe 1 or 2 will pan, maybe.

It is hilarious how every draft people on here start going "OMG steal of the year hur hur hur hur" Yeah, I'll see in 5 years how these steals worked out for us.

#2178881 Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons

Posted by stuck in socal on 24 May 2011 - 12:11 AM

Just goes to show how all the good things come to an end eventually. Rafalski was a great player for both our Red Wings and the New Jersey Devils. He played the game and his position with a lot of skill, and he was a great ambassador for the NHL and American hockey. Thank you for servicing the Wings Mr. Rafalski, you will be missed out there. <3.

I hope the Sharks are crushed and just mail it in. That is what I want :).

Very proud of this team. I was giving up when the Sharks tied it at 3. And, I must apologize for that. One game at a time boys. Nothing is impossible, ever.

No surprises really. Once the sharks tied it up I knew the game was over. This team doesn't have the "it" factor if you want to say so. They can't close out a game. All this means is we need a change in philosophy. I know we all love Babcock around here, but he hasn't produced anything other than one cup with with a pretty solid core. Call me crazy, but I think we need a lot of change, and that starts with the man behind the bench.

anyone remember 02 against vancouver?

Please don't compare arguably one of the greatest nhl teams every assembled to our lineup now. Please don't even try to do that. Please don't. Seriously, please don't.

Lower the expectations, the Wings are not winning this series...

Why is a shark fan trying to reassure Red Wing fans. Go enjoy your victory man.

This is one of the most stupidest things I've ever read on this site, seriously?????

Did you not see everyone except Lidstrom,Howard and Datsyuk floating around out there? Look, this team was saying how they had eight days off, and how they wanted revenge for last year, and they came out terrible for majority of the game.

A little rat with the heart of a tiger. I will take Pavelski anyhow anyway anyday on any team. The guy is absolutely clutch, particularly against the wings. I imagine the rat moniker comes with a certain level of respect????

Hate to say it because I don't want to give fuel to the fire, but the 4 min penalty in OT was kind of weak. 2min yea, but 4? Not unless his ear fell off.

That being said, I was somewhat surprised the wings weren't more fired up when they killed off the penalty. I expected quite a bit more energy from them at that point. In my opinion, that was the difference in the game. Wings effort was spotty at best, when they were on they obviously dictated the play, but they seemed to get tired or disinterested for long stretches. The score could have been much higher if not for Howard.

They were exhausted from killing a four minute penalty.... They unfortunately could not get the puck out of the zone...

Wow, temper temper Thornton... anyone know what precipitated that?

Ya he got some sand in his puss.

The second line is what scares me the most. Babs is a smart coach and if they are being dominated he will change things up. And for the record, If****** hate the Sharks, and I can't stand most of their team, f*** Niemi, f*** ***** Joe, and f*** Rat Face Couture.

We just need to shutdown the top two lines for the Sharks, and our bottom 6 will outmatch their bottom 6.
