Could we get his father instead?

#2150071 Custom shirts: Viva la Octolution!

One point by a pedantic polyglot...

Instead of Viva la Octolution, to properly follow the Spanish I would propose "Viva la octolución".

They look great!

It would be nice to have the lovechild of Derek Boogaard and Andy Bezeau in the line-up the next time we face Calgary...

#2091994 The Comparison of Helm to Draper

Draper-Helm I can understand, but Eaves is nothing like Maltby in terms of agitation.

Brad McCrimmon and Paul MacLean are now assistant coaches for some average Midwestern team whose name escapes me at the moment.

#2041592 Abdelkader out, Bertuzzi questionable for tomorrow's opener

As it looks like Maltby may be retiring, I would like him to play at least one game this regular season, and then call it quits (and perhaps fill the Verbeek vacancy?).

#2022698 Helm signs 2 year extension

The world isn't ready for someone who can skate 40 mph, grind opponents into oblivion, and snipe out top shelf.

Robert Lang has been playing for several seasons now...

#2006995 Holland thinking of re-signing Kirk Maltby

Posted by NGKEIB on 30 June 2010 - 01:42 AM

News article on detnews.com says Maltby is likely to be re-signed I guess based on the impression McCoskey got from interviewing Kenny on the subject.

Holland said that a while ago, and McCosky is probably just giving his own opinion. The fact remains that Lilja has at least had some sort of offer, whereas Maltby hasn't. I'm sure that they will let Maltby test free agency, and if he hasn't signed by the end of the offseason, give him a contract but with the stipulation that he'll spend most of the season in GR.

#1999960 Chat with Red Wings assistant GM Jim Nill at 2 p.m

Most other college kids aren't the property to an NHL team though. I don't care about the house party fight, but I'd like to think the brass had a nice long talk with him about the DUI.

It must be said, that there is a difference between gunning around in a car when completely wasted, and tooling around on a moped after a few beers...

What happened to Cheechoo?

Thornton made him about 40 goals better than he really was...

#1996416 Why Holmstrom

Am I the only one who slightly disagrees with the argument that Osgood's success is a result of the Wings solid play, and that he sucked in St. Louis and New York?

Brendan Shanahan - I was really excited to get a player like him, but he never really worked out that well for the Wings.
