#2445521 10/17 GDT : Red Wings 4 at Avalanche 2

I'm so angry about this game I want to write bad middle school poetry about it.

how about some haikus?

I'll start:

Colorado's cheap

Franzen's lazy and he sucks

We are in trouble

Dat work along the boards before the 2nd goal. A glimpse of what a Z/D/Alfie line would look like.

Monster looks sharp.

Sucks so bad about Kronner. Guy has such terrible luck, always seems to get injured when he's playing his best hockey.

oh yeah like when the time Laraque busted his knee right when he was starting to light it up a few seasons ago? Kronner seems to have bad luck against the goons of other teams

Not to get off topic but Dan Boyle was taking off the ice tonight in the Sharks/Blues game.  Hope he's ok

read on rotoworld that he was alert and responsive during the ambulance ride to the hospital; suspension coming for Maxim Lapierre for the hit from behind to Boyle

Lots of ambivalence about Bertuzzi on the boards these days.  Prior to tonight's game, half of LGW wanted him off the team.  Anybody willing to eat crow?

sure I'll admit I wanted him off the team when he was sucking, like a lot of other people did, but that's how it is with us fickle sports fans I guess; if Sammy somehow goes on a 10 game goal-scoring streak I'd eat crow for that, too(though if that were to happen, my head would probably explode before I ever got to a keyboard)

You would think the speed and skill of the third line in the playoffs last season would have made some lasting impact on Holland/Babcock. Instead they insist on icing an old and slow team, with veterans that all provide the same attribute of nothing. There's simply no excuse for Tatar and Nyquist not to play over the likes of Samuelsson, Cleary and Bertuzzi. These veterans aren't making the Red Wings better and this continues to be the biggest glaring flaw of the organization.

It's as though they turn their brains off when it comes to playing a vet or a rook, it's always vet that wins by default, regardless of performance

I know it's a long shot for him to become relevant to the organization, but Hampus(or Hampy, Hamper, etc.) cannot be ignored!

#2425122 Wings buy out Colaiacovo, will keep Bertuzzi

Posted by datterberg1340 on 02 July 2013 - 09:36 PM

I am so confused by our roster right now.  Colaiacovo played well (when he wasn't injured, obviously) and gets bought out, leaving us with 7 defensemen.

We don't buy out any forwards, re-sign Miller and plan on re-signing Cleary and Brunner.  Including Andersson, Nyquist and Tatar that gives us 16 forwards and we STILL can't properly fill the top 2 lines.

Lovely.

I almost would rather have seen Quincey bought out, if Colo weren't so injury prone; Quincey's cap hit is higher not to mention he has been a huge disappointment thus far, he provides almost nothing offensively and is not physical enough, especially for a guy who's supposed to be in the top-4 and being paid the 2nd most among our d-men

as for the forwards, we can only hope Holland at least has some sort of contingency plan to get us to the 14 forwards the team plans to carry; I just hope he picks the right 14

Having multiple Bertuzzis was grandfathered in for teams that had an existing Bertuzzi on the roster prior to the new CBA taking effect.

the limit on one is called the Ber-one-zee clause

the exception for those with a Bertuzzi already on the roster prior to the new CBA is called the Ber-too-many-too-zees exception rule

thank goodness they won, they'd have been in deep trouble if they lost both of those games in OT

plus they did it with their role-players doing all the scoring, that's huge, too

now, they've stolen home ice and carry momentum going to beantown

gonna be a crazy game 3 on Monday

if nothing else this series has been entertaining, just wish the Bs were playing a different team ;)

Boston has done everything but score in this OT.  REALLY frustrating.  I can only imagine what I feel like if I were actually a Bruins fan.

yeah I'd be pulling my hair out by now, they need to stop effing around and put it in the net

oh wait, they just did- screw the Hawks, go Bs
