#1922002 3/22 GDT: Penguins 1 at Red Wings 3

Damn Bertuzzi, Flippula, and Zetterberg are playing well...

I get that you like them, but it's a joke to say that they are "very well built through great drafting".

They sucked for a loooong time, and got good picks because of it. Anybody could have picked Crosby and Malkin.

And in case you forgot, they picked Jordan Staal ahead of Jonathan Toews, Nicklas Backstrom and Phil Kessel.
They picked Fleury over Eric Staal.

Yeah, that's some world class drafting right there.

Seemed to work didn't it?

I mean I don't think Chicago/Washington/Boston/Carolina have a Stanley Cup like the great Penguins?

I actually enjoy this thread.

The jealously of some of these fans makes me laugh.

Defending Stanley Cup champions with 2 of the 3 best players in the world. And a goalie that can steal games in the playoffs.

They are a great team to watch and are very well built through great drafting.

That was nice.

Bertuzzi is going to show up tonight.

We got this. Just giving them a head start.

#1918637 Eight games for Wisniewski

Unless your name is Sean Avery (Brodeur Rule) or Sidney Crosby (All-Star Game Rule) or Evgeni Malkin (Rescinding Automatic Suspension Rule)...

What a shifty, deceptive son of a *****.

Except the Sean Avery rule was a clarification on existing rule not a new rule. And the Crosby/Malkin situations are clearly covered in the rulebook for those who are actually literate in the Engliah langauge.

#1918367 No suspension for Cooke

Nice job by Thornton to continue throwing punches.

What a dirty player.

Acting like Cooke and Gonchar are the only players that happened to have their dirty hits go unpunished is ridiculous.

Hell just the other day verse Buffalo, Torres hit Helm with a blindside hit to the head.

#1918279 "Detroit the hottest option for Zuccarello Aasen"

There is nothing bad that can come out of signing him.
The worst thing would be another Leino situation in which we could just trade him.

I'm not sold that he will be able to play in the NHL. He will have zero room to be lazy, and will need to play 100% each and every night. In today's game, his size isn't a major issue. He would not be able to be that physical, but you have to be tenacious more then anything else. Datsyuk isn't the biggest guy and he is the best defensive forward in the world(Certainly not saying ZA is going to be great).

So I'm all for giving him a shot.

Who cares about Ovechkin pushing women, not doing interviews and almost ending other players' careers.

#1917837 Ericsson back in lineup, Howard to start vs Edmonton

Posted by Carman on 17 March 2010 - 09:25 PM

No biggie here. If we lose to Edmonton the last thing I would blame is the 6th defenseman. Hopefully this can get Ericcson some confidence, because he can be a lot better then Lebda.

#1917833 Hudler's Options

Posted by Carman on 17 March 2010 - 09:22 PM

Hilarious. Posts that mention Hudler in a positive light consistently get voted down on here. Someone out there feels spurned by a certain midget who can shoot the puck.

Don't worry, I don't think anyone should take the voting system seriously.

Although, I hope I'm the leader.

And I'd welcome Hudler back in a heart beat. As much as I don't like his decision he can score and we need players that can score.

Although I'd prefer trading him for a good, young and talented North American that actually would like to play for one of the greatest franchises in sports history, but that's just me.

#1917796 NHL's most and least valuable players

Posted by Carman on 17 March 2010 - 08:27 PM

This is just another example that numbers can be bent and twisted to look anyway the author wants.

Stuart is far far far from the least valuable player in the league.

He's not having a great season by any means, but it's a joke to have him last.

#1917398 Ovie Suspended

pockets, on 16 March 2010 - 03:44 AM, said:

idk why people are still saying Cooke needs to be punished. Why what rule did he break, even though it was a malicious hit and knowing Cookes history he probably did have intent to injure, you cant punish him.

Then I guess, by this logic, it should be OK for the Bruins to go headhunting for the Penguin's best player when they meet on Thursday night. Suppose Boston's most physical player (goon? thug? clean but hard checking player?) takes out Cyndy Crosby the way Cooke took out Savard. When Bettman regained consciousness, he would demand that the guilty party be banned for life for a "clean" (?) hit on the "face of the NHL". Above all, Political Correctness must be observed!!

You are assuming Sidney is going to have his head down.
He's not that stupid. He's not the greatest hockey talent in the history of the game for nothing...
