Sort of like when Gretzky retired & the NHL painted 99 behind the goals, when Homer finally hangs them up the Wings should at least play a game with 96 painted in front of the crease to honor him.

I was born in Midland, MI and unfortunately no NHL guys from there, but an extension would certainly be the Detroit area guys. Once the family moved to the Chicago area, there was not any guys from the city we resided in, but then again all of the guys from around the Chicago area itself including Brett Lebda, Mike Brown, Al Montoya, Jared Boll, etc.
I did however attend prep school at Shattuck St. Mary's in Minnesota and had the opportunity to go to school with Zach Parise, Sidney Crosby, Jack Johnson and Drew Stafford as well as having the chance to play on the same team with Crosby, Johnson and Stafford during my last year there.

Hudler is worthless. Am I the only one who feels this way? For spending all off-season training with an MMA fighter it sure doesn't show.

Howard had to have that 3rd goal... he just cannot be beaten like that. BUT the bigger problem is Zetterberg has been BRUTAL tonite along with Fil... too quiet. Pavs has been good with his line though which is something positive. But the Wings need to wake up this period.
Z has been nowhere near where he was a few years ago and it has become more and more noticeable each game. The 2nd goal was just a classic example of what has been the case with him, can't get a shot off because he is too SLOW and right back at them a goal for SJ.

i've seen Fred L'Ecuyer referee a couple dozen games at the ahl level and he was by far one of the worst and inconsistent officials i have ever seen. its no surprise this game was so poorly officiated with him involved...
Makes you wonder what exactly the people in charge of making those decisions are looking at when it comes to that

I'd like to see the Joe Louis name find its way into the name if the new arena does in fact get done, but if it does not I'd prefer that the arena have a name that is more Michigan esque. If they try to spruce up the JLA name then how about...

I know the Milwaukee Admirals off the top of my head actually have a name for the rink itself even though it is located within the Bradley Center. I believe it is called the Jane Bradley Petit Rink or something along those lines.

so glad to watch some hockey after dealing with this disaster.
