Hey Sharkie!!!  Good to see you!!

Good to see you too!:)

In Topic: WCF: St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks

Since, there is a sharks topic in here. I've talked to a few people in here. And I'll tell you what went on as a Sharks fan perspective and who went to the game.

It was a sold out game( It felt like the early 2000's tbh and the arena felt like the most intimidating arena again). This game was a emotional game for the fans. All the Hardcore fans came back to this game. Most of the hardcore shark fans have been boycotting the Sharks home games. It all started with the Reverse sweep from the Los Angeles Kings ( I was at that game 7 also). Obviously none of the fans were happy including me. After that year, 50-75% of the season tickets dropped out. ( Including me). They raised prices at the beginning of last year. Sharks didn't make the playoffs. After that year, they still raised prices.  Sharks fans were getting pissed at ownership of why they would need to raise prices when they sucked last year. Only 12 out of the 40 some games were sold out this year.

You already know the final score. You guys probably know the heartbreak the Sharks have had over the years in the western conference. You should know since you were one of the teams that caused us to be heartbroken especially when Marleau couldn't clear the zone in game 4 with about a minute left and Lang scored from the left face off circle and beat Nabokov 9-hole and then Schenider won it in double overtime. ( Yes, I still remember every key moment in every playoff loss). But when Couture scored that empty netter, you look around you see people hugging. You see people wiping their faces because they were crying. I was sitting next to this old couple, they have been season ticket holders for 25 years. They said to me earlier in the game" I just want to live long enough to see the Sharks make it to the Stanley Cup Final". As the buzzer sounded, I just gave them a group hug and said" We did it! We're finally going to the Stanley Cup Final after all these heartbreaks".

After the game and the ceremony, I just sat in my seat not moving from my seat. Remembering all the Heart breaks. Remembering all the former players that helped this organization and seeing them try their hardest to us in this position like Nolan, Damphousse, Cheechoo, Nabokov, S. Thornton, Sundstrom, Mccauley, Murray, the list can go on. And I just sat in my seat and started crying. The Shark fanbase has gone through so much. It's great to see the Fanbase and the organization rewarded. And not to mention, Marleau and Thornton deserve this more than anyone on the Sharks team.

It's been the rule for 2 seasons now.  It's posted on their website.  They even handed out bags at the home opener the last 2 years because of it.  They really should post it right outside the arena somewhere though.  They were pretty lax about it last year, but I saw several women this year get sent back to their car.

Glad you had a good time!

I didn't know that at all! I should have checked a while ago. Do you know why they have those rules?

Although it was unfortunate that your friends couldn't get in because of her purse, they should have a baggage check or something imo. perhaps, you should give us pointers on what to do, places to visit, etc if it's their first time to the D. I know I'd appreciate that ;)

I agree on the baggage check. Just doesn't make sense. I was just over the college town kinda. I was in Greektown ( lots of good places to eat there, there is this pizza place that is really good and lots of good bars in midtown also) There is this greekplace that is really good also. And Kony's, I guess thats one of Detroit's famous food? Correct me if I'm wrong Detroit residents.

And you're welcome for beating the Panthers. Sorry, we couldn't beat them in regulation;)

Did she try going to another spot to go in? I've been there with people who had huge purses and they didn't say squat. Sounds like you got someone who was powerhungry

She didn't. I didn't know there were other spots. I honestly have no heard of that rule before in a NHL Arena. So, I was surprised when my friend texted me that.

Great pics man! Can't wait until I go to The Joe on March 12th vs. the Rangers.

I always notice Zetterberg always has to stand behind Datsyuk when he's in the faceoff circle during warm ups. Must be a superstition? I have a couple pictures of them, one taken in Detroit another one in Buffalo.

Thanks! I love taking pictures for pre game. I couldn't take my long lens so I took my short lens. I always risk about trying to bring by big lens in and the person tried to say you have to take it back to your house. I'm like uh no, nice try. haha.

Hey Sharkie!  Glad you had a great time.  I'd have lost the purse somehow if it was me  .

It was super fun! Just never heard that rule before. -_-

In Topic: Going to the Joe. Best place to sit at the Joe?

Thank you everyone for all your tips on where to sit at the Joe. It has really helped!

Probably the best environment that I've been to is in Vancouver. Can't beat the environment in Canada.

I did go to a Playoff game in Anaheim. That was probably the worst atmosphere that I've been too. That playoff game felt like a Regular season game. But, it was nice to get 30 dollar playoff tickets also.
