Either Datsyuk or Zetterberg (or both) have scored a point on nearly 60% of our goals so far this season. To be exact, it's 57 goals out of 99 total.
"I like our depth."
We don't have great scoring depth but our bottom 6 solid, could use some more physical players but guys like miller and andersson are proving to be gems. It is our top lines that are underachieving whether it be Franzen or Filppula simply not producing points or samuelsson and bert constantly injured.
No, but it was late. Certainly not worthy of a game misconduct, however.
All you've got to do now to get a guy kicked out of a game is hold your hand to your face after a hit.
That was not a late hit unless we use the counting method of a 90 year old. There was incidental contact that caused the blood for anisimov, looked to be from the helmet/visor.
I know it is a hot topic and we should discuss it here. Edler gets suspended for trying to avoid smith who was in the same exact situation last year with Shaw. Smith dove and now is faking concussion symptoms because his team is going nowhere and he has nothing to lose.
Lupul barely touched Hedmen who falls like a ton of bricks. Obvious dive. Yes what Lupul did should be illegal but he barely touched him.
Perry suspended 4 games for literally brushing against a guy who was lost in space and wrecked himself.
Zolnierczyk hammers Lundin and leaves his feet AFTER contact... suspended.
Nash blatantly jumps and nails Kopecky in the back of the head... nothing. Looked like it was a reaction play. Now this one may be the right call but then how can you suspend the others for doing the same thing (other than the Lupul hit which should have been a penalty and not a suspension)?
Kronwall 4 minutes for hitting too hard.
Smith turns at the end boards at the last second, Glencross who is already committed hits him and is penalized.
There are probably at least 3 dozen examples out there already this season of penalties called on hits where the player being hit is the one to blame or where a guy simply hits a guy "too hard" or "too angrily".
It is starting to get ridiculous. I can give you examples of events exactly the same as these events in the past in which nobody batted an eye over because it is part of the game. The next step is to remove hitting all together and sometimes I wish they would just get it over with quick instead of this slow and painful degradation.
When visors are 20/20 and enhance the players view, don't cut the player, don't scratch, don't fog up, don't collect water, then make them mandatory. Until then players can determine if they are lucky or not and how safe they wanna be.
