At the bottom of the quote you should add your own bit: "Have your face mangled, come back to the game, reject the use of a visor."

Hows this? Anyone got any more ideas, I have finals coming up and i'ld love to procrastinate  :P

Also, where in the world do people get these high-res photographs? @Doc_Holiday and @Tim.D

#2107914 Going to the game on the 13th

Posted by King Crane on 01 February 2011 - 08:38 AM

I've always loved to grab a coney from Lafayette Coney Island (best coney dogs in Michigan).  I'm not old enough to go to the bars so my tradition is to grab a dog on the way back down the lodge.  I think most people here will agree that this is one of the essential dining experiences in Detroit.  You can go there before or after the game, either way you are bound to find Wings fans not only enjoying 2 with everything and a Verners, but also ready to talk about the game.  The place is pretty small, but I wouldn't change it, the beauty of the small venue is that everyone eating together is like one big family.

#1978945 For those of us going to game 4..

Posted by King Crane on 06 May 2010 - 11:25 PM

AHHHH MAN!!! I was totally at that game tonight.
2 favorite fan related moments:
-After the Mule gets his hat-trick a guy throws an absolutely massive octopus onto the ice where the tentacles fanned out nicely and everything.
-My section started a the wave!  (217-216)  Took a while though, b/c sections 224 and up didnt want to participate until it grew. Once it got going though, it was one of the strongest waves in the Joe i've been apart of.

Definitely my second favorite wings game that I've gone to (first was game 5 of the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals. best...singing...evar!!! Oh, and the 5-0 score wasnt too bad either  )

More to come from me.
Question how does "Jimmy Howard as The Impenetrable Ironman" (Instead of "Invincible") sound?

#1911001 Ozzie Disgruntled ?

Posted by King Crane on 07 March 2010 - 06:53 PM

Osgood has said on several occasions that he has no hard feelings about sitting on the bench.  Don't read to much into the situation.  Furthermore, Babcock has stated that Ozzie is the reason Jimmy has been playing so well.  Ozzie is constantly coaching and supporting Howard during practice.

Freep-
"I've played a ton of games, and sure, I still want to play," Osgood said Saturday, before the Wings departed for Pittsburgh. "But I owe it to Howie and the team. It's kind of like the past reclaims itself. We've not totally switched roles, but I had guys -- Mike Vernon, Tim Cheveldae, Vincent Riendeau -- who helped me. There's no way I could've been here by myself, without the older guys' help. It'd be selfish of me to act any other way."

(i couldn't find the vid, but i specifically remember an interview with Babs where he said that Osgood was really supportive and helpful with Howard during practice)
