#2374246 I hate to admit this but....

Posted by BigWillieStyle on 26 March 2013 - 01:59 AM

Yeah, it really sucks to see one of our defensemen playing well. I'd hate to piss off some young college kid who expects us to put him on the first pairing before he's even played a single professional game.

#2335148 Holmstrom appreciation thread

Sort of like when Gretzky retired & the NHL painted 99 behind the goals, when Homer finally hangs them up the Wings should at least play a game with 96 painted in front of the crease to honor him.

#2335750 13 pro teams running out of fans

Posted by MabusIncarnate on 10 December 2012 - 03:10 AM

I keep posting on forums, don't be a dumbass and boycott hockey if it does return this season. The sport is already damaged from all of this, the day hockey returns and Center Ice becomes available i'll buy it as I normally do.

Let's face facts, yes this sucks, yes i'm mad, yes many fans are lost, but I still have a love affair with the sport. The word Hockey was in my wedding vows (seriously) and my better half understands that I can't live without it and it's so much more to me than just a sport.

We'll get through this, and hopefully there's not too much of a decline in fan following, although i'm pessimistic about that. I just want hockey. Now.

Santa if you are reading this, making this wish comes true makes up for the lack of a slip and slide in 1989. Still bitter.

#2326204 Datsyuk leaving after contract is up?

If that's what he wants then more power to him. I love Datsyuk! It does not matter where he plays. I will still be a fan of his.

#2307876 Thinking of Buffalo Wings.....

Posted by Richdg on 18 June 2012 - 05:07 PM

There are and have been some rumors around that the Sabers are looking for a true C. They have several good young wingers, but have a gapping hole in the middle. They are also a small market team that has to watch its pennies very carefully. We on the other hand have lots of cash and C's. if we load up at the C position, Filppula would be our number 3 C behind Z and Dat. Point is, there could be some deals that benefit both sides here. if Buf really wants to free up cash, Filppula for vaneck comes to mind. In his 7 year career he has averaged 33 goals per season. has decent size as well. Gives us another scoring winger and them a true number 1 type C. They also have 2 1st round picks. So we could try a Filppula for Stafford and their second 21st (IIRC) pick. Point is, they need what we have and we need what they have. Could be a good dancing partner.......

#2306362 Brad Stuart's rights traded to San Jose

Posted by Hockey13Playa on 10 June 2012 - 03:26 PM

Quincey is a lot like Stuart, a little less physical but a better skater and a little more skilled and much younger

I don't think I would say he is "a lot like" Stuart. They both play a somewhat different style game in my opinion.

#2306422 Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

#2305950 Jagr staying in Philadelphia?

Posted by AceInTheSleeve on 08 June 2012 - 12:38 AM

Jagr would have been great to have. I don't understand these "wouldn't want him anyway" comments

#2305078 Would you make this trade?

Posted by redwingfan19 on 03 June 2012 - 11:06 PM

How about Franzen for the rights to Semin? Anything to get rid of the god awful length of that contract. Then just let Semin walk if he wants anymore than 4M.

Franzen! He reeks of leadership and work ethic!

#2303692 Patrick Kane at it again

Posted by Hockeytown0001 on 30 May 2012 - 12:18 AM

It's a shame that we once had players like Bobby Orr scoring Stanley Cup winning overtime goals and now this drunken fool.

#2303373 San Jose Sharks

Posted by Crymson on 26 May 2012 - 03:34 PM

It's because Niemi was one of those one and done goalies, much like a few others that have won the Cup once and have made crap since... Cam Ward anyone?

Cam Ward is a far better goalie than Niemi is.
