#2104652 Kulemin got crunched

Posted by BlakKy on 24 January 2011 - 11:00 PM

Except Kulemin never threw a punch. Pushing =/= punching. And he never dropped the gloves, while Gleason (who I like) did drop his gloves.

He had a few week glove shots up in Gleason's face. Gleason stood there long enough and continued to take it until it was just too much.

#2085593 What is the purpose of the Game Winning Goal statistic?

The purpose of the stat (like a lot of others) is just for fun.

#2081059 Player Videos - "Tributes" "Highlights"

Looking forward to a Homer tribute :D

It would be hilarious... just a bunch of clips from the same angle. The only thing that would change would be the uniform on the defenseman trying to push him away from the net and the logo on the goalie's chest.

#2072488 Rogers offers 1.3 Billion for Leafs/Raptors.

My only fear is losing HNIC.
Even if it lives on under Rogers it just won't have the prestige or history of the traditional CBC broadcast.
Not to mention that the CBC pays me a pittance every week for bumper editing.

Your avatar upsets me. That is animal cruelty.

Your avatar has a mule whose leg is being devoured by anti-matter. That sucks for animals too.

#2049284 Youngsters ditching the visors

Posted by BlakKy on 19 October 2010 - 01:24 PM

then just take it off then when you square up like most people do. also punching the side of a helmet hurts equally bad and nobody has a problem with that.

edit: im not trying to start a war, and im sure we could go back and forth all day like a couple of stubborn asses lol. im just sayin, theres two sides to every story.

I don't think it is as commonplace as a lot believe. Most players simple leave the visor on because it would take too much time to remove just the visor. If they remove the entire helmet they would be afraid of a K.O. punch that sends them to the ice, killing someone one day when he splits his skull open... or in the least, ruining a lucrative career.

But let me just say this. If there is no instigator penalty distributed with a fighting major then there should be some rule that has both fighters take their helmets off. Two men should be willing to inherit the risks of fighting... including crashing to the ice.
If fighting is going to be a part of the game (like it should be), than fighting should be governed properly like everything else.

Watch Zetters and Dats at 1:11

When I first saw this I thought the glass was reflecting oddly or something.

Datsyuk, with a gust of wind behind him.

#1990737 Bettman Responsible For Yzerman Leaving?

Posted by BlakKy on 28 May 2010 - 10:54 AM

Even tho I hate Bettman, I must agree business standpoint his getting it done thus far.

I agree if it wasn't for the franchises in Atlanta, Nashville and especially Phoenix this league would be in a bad financial situation.
Bettman is a lawyer... not a businessman or sportsman.

Osgood is an excellent trade candidate.

#1982754 Datsyuk to play in World Championship

Posted by BlakKy on 10 May 2010 - 12:49 PM

Yeah, he wasn't awful. I'm just bitter about the 5 straight faceoff losses at the end of game 5. And I was expecting him to shutdown Jumbo Joe or atleast hamper him. <_<

Thornton totally cheated those faceoffs though. Basically just fell on top of Pavel without ever stopping first.

#1979046 Toughest NHL area for visiting teams to play in

Posted by BlakKy on 07 May 2010 - 01:26 AM

I have always thought that the flames fans were pretty loud. Canadians are usually pretty good fans. Good to see we are up there as well. Would have never guessed the sharks were the worst though

I think its more or less just the Sharks' home record that make the HP Pavilion a tough venue. It has been pretty ridiculous over the past few seasons (better than ours). The fans there are probably less threatening than most especially when pretending to be sharks.

#1933106 Darren Helm plays on with broken nose

Posted by BlakKy on 06 April 2010 - 12:48 AM

I'm not belittling his game but when I broke my nose five minutes before going to work selling stereo equipment I managed the whole day more or less fine (still talked, and wheeled fine)... even when my eyes got puffy and started to blacken hours after the accidental elbow.
