#2537008 Datsyuk 2nd degree separated shoulder injury - out approx 4 weeks

Ouch...Hitting that rounded glass at the end of the bench is like hitting a brick wall - no give.

Could be worse, remember what happens with out the rounded glass.

good Interview with Dats

Dats: "I got hit in to the galsses.

Helene St.James: "How do you feel?"

Dats: "Better ask how glasses feel"

HSJ: "how do you think Darren Helm looks today?"

Dats: "He is ready for Halloween"

Least he is in good spirits.

As a life long Wings and Jets fan, it is not the "Forsberg", it's the Zhamnov.  Forsberg can suck it.  Z and that Preds kid do "The Zhamnov".  Glad I could finally get that off my chest.

In addition, Forsberg did it what? 1994 Olympics or something?  I was at one of the Jets games in 92 or 93 when Zhamnov broke in and started doing it.

Back on topic, sort of, I like Preds fan.  Anyone who rags on him for posting a topic in the General Discussion area needs to calm the hell down.  People always say, hey, I don't know much about that guys, can anybody shed light on what that player is like.  Here's a video of what a couple players are like, now you don't have to ask.

Edit:  After some research, Wiki stated that Forsberg borrowed the move from retired Swede Kent NIlsson, but that doesn't take away the fact that Zhamnov did the move 2 years before Floppa.

The peanut butter and Zhamnov. haha I cant remember who made that nickname for him but its a true classic.

Awesome, that's almost as bad as when Mickey tries to say T.J. Galiardi's last name.  "That's a real nice hit by Googlimoogli, who's always a ball of energy playing for his hometown Calgary Flames".

I seriously just defended this moron like a month ago for changing his game. I guess a leopard can't change its spots.

#2500662 Pens Twitter Fail:Ask Neal Anything...

Posted by Smite on 25 March 2014 - 10:15 AM

I think part blame has to go to the Pens organization. I strongly believe they don't only tolerate this behavior they encourage it.

When your captain is know as one of the biggest immature complainers in the league and your owner was known for the same thing. Everyone underneath follows suit.

Exhibit A: Matt Cooke, Watching him this weekend I thought it was a different player. when he tried to change in Pittsburgh they shipped him out.

From Stevie to Lids to Z, what Neal does would not be acceptable.

I bet if you take Neal out of Pittsburgh and to a team with strong veterans he does not do the s*** he does.

@asktheduffer: #Leafs Carlyle on #redwings: "I thought interference was supposed to be called in the NHL. We felt there was a lot of interference."

@asktheduffer: #leafs Carlyle on #redwings: "When you go in to forecheck, they step in front of people, holding people up."

@asktheduffer: #leafs Carlyle on #redwings: "Youve got give them credit. They disguised it. They did a better job than we did."

*plays air guitar*

Not like I had a lot of respect for Carlyle before the HBO 24-7. But seeing that these comments does not surprise me. His bully mentality with his no one plays fair attitude.

When he told his centermen to hack someone after loosing a draw cause you got beat was a sign of his poor sportsmanship.

When your coach or leader is a crybaby, your team is a crybaby.

Stay classy Toronto.

#2497320 Ferraro: An incredible night for landon and my family

Posted by Smite on 19 March 2014 - 03:40 PM

TSN article

I am incredibly lucky in life - fabulous wife, four awesome sons and a great job.

Every once in awhile, it seems like life lets dreams become real - and that is a gift.

I had one of those moments in Detroit on Tuesday. My son, Landon, played his first NHL game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, his favourite boyhood team.

When he phoned me to say he had been called up, I had so many visions of him as a little boy, pretending to be Mats Sundin, the joy we shared in going to the rink and the disappointments along the way.

As all parents know, nothing deflates you like a tough day for your child, nothing makes you happier than their success.

I happened to be flying to Toronto anyways - for a TSN game the next day - so when I got off the plane, I looked for a text from Landon whether he was in the lineup or not. He knew he would be in warm-up and that was enough for me to hop on another flight. And when I got there for warm-up, I saw he was on a line and knew his dream (and mine) was about to become reality.

My last game in the NHL - in May of 2002 - was in Detroit. Now Landon's first game was going to be in the same arena. I can see the post where Landon and his brother, Matt were waiting for me post-game; we all knew my career was done. Full circle stuff.

When the Wings came out of the tunnel, I was looking for that familiar skating stride and there he was. An NHL player. I have to say, the tears came pretty quickly. He played well, just under 10 minutes. I will never forget this night.

What an incredible night for our family, and in particular, for Landon. I'm so proud.
