#2528893 Quincey re-signed by DET. 2 yr s $4.25 mill AAV

I just think we're going to have to come to the conclusion we're going to suck for a while before we get back into contention. The faster we accept that the better off we'll be.

So re-signing one player (whom, while he had a shocking first half, had a very very solid second) means we are doomed to the annals of hell for a while? Seriously? This team was injury depleted and still made the playoffs. The emergence of the kids nullifies the signing of a solid stay at home defensemen. All I can say is meh. So we struck out in free agency today. Big deal. This team has more than enough to be optimistic about right now. Getting a known commodity won't hurt us. And yes I know, everyone here will say the Q sucks. And they'd be right about his first half performance, wrong about the second, in which he was one of our better blue liners

$3.5 M*****F****** million for a 40 yr old????? ... he better score 25 goals and 75 pts AT LEAST ... in other worries ... please re-sign Brunner ...

$3.5 requires 75 points, seriously? It's not a sure thing that even Pav or Z will get 75 points, and they make $6m+

Many here, and in general non-Maple Leafs fans will bash anything outta Toronto...The fact is - Garbo is a very good player.

So good, they nicknamed him after a silent film legend.

#2424780 Report: Red Wings out on Lecavalier - signs with Philly 5@4.5 per

I honestly don't understand the fixation with Stephen Weiss, as the pundits are now saying he's the most likely to be signed by Holland at this point. Replacing one soft, small center in Filppula with another soft, small, center for almost the same price...not exactly a game changing move.

I see this year similar to 2007. Stevey Y just retired. Pav and Hank were taking the torch. Up until that year, no one thought Pav could handle the playoffs. That post Stevie team proved to everyone they were legit, and the kids were taking over.

The following year we were treated to the best played hockey I've seen the red wings play. #1 in virtually every category and they worked their asses off in the process.

Our now core was just beginning to really blossom. Now we have the likes of Nyquist and Tatar and DD and Andersson. I think they are our future core, and I am very hopeful for the future.
