#2208669 The Hottest Red Wing

Posted by Kira on 21 September 2011 - 07:59 PM

Are you kidding?????

Well, Aaron came through. Henrik came and signed Jeanie's pic of Hank for her. He thinks Hank is "cute" and he was very flattered that she did that. Then I told him about her calling him a hockey dog (and his barking approval), and he liked that - he laughed. When I told him about my Loki growling at he who will not be named, Henrik said, "Oh, I like that." Needless to say, I owe Aaron a huge hug the next time I see him.

More pictures have been loaded up on Facebook...Kristi, there was another Cheli sighting today, and some good pics!

I am going to hate tomorrow morning...seeing Pasha one last time (and yes, I did see him this morning) will put me in tears, I fear. It's never easy on the last day.

Interesting visitor to camp today - Darren McCarty! I even got a hug from him. And yes, it is true he is working for the pawn shop...and he likes it apparently. He seems happy, and was giving Malts a hard time, and Ozzie bear hugs. I also heard a story that Mike Babcock said, "Well, Mac, Hell has indeed frozen over - Ozzie is a coach."

Aaron Downey has been an absolute angel...every time I see him he has a big smile and a hug for me. God love that man, 'cause I sure do...and he asked if I talked to "the sisters". I said yes, and passed on his message...and then I told him what you all said. He was very flattered and touched, and said we were all amazing.

I am hating to see the end of camp come. Makes me cry every year. Pasha will not be around tomorrow, but he will be Thursday. That's when I will be in tears, I'm sure.

#2207963 Datsyuk to wear 24 in preseason to honor Salei

I was looking all over the place for Pasha and then I saw him with #24, and I knew what he was doing. What a beautiful tribute to his friend. I even got a hug from him this morning! Man, Pav, you made my week!!!

#2207647 Everyone has rejoined the team for skating...except one player...

He's there now, so...you aren't, I hope, going to get down on Pasha for not skating for almost a week. He had a very good reason.

IDK if it was just me, but at Hockeyfest today Kindl still looked pretty upset. He looked very rough and weary, wasn't very talkative, and had to have smiles coaxed out of him. I felt so bad for him. :((((

I know with certainty that this hit him very hard, and it is going to take a while to heal. I have a feeling he and Pasha both are going to be hard pressed to keep their minds on the game, and will be rather subdued next weekend. For those of us who will be there, a kind word passed on can't hurt.

Found this on nhl.com...

"When asked what needs to be done in order to move forward from Wednesday's tragedy...Datsyuk looked at his inquisitor with a blank stare and said, "pray".

There is more in the article...if you want to read it, it's at nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=587971

I agree with the parties above...this is not the time and place for a religious argument or anything remotely resembling one. This is a time for all of us to reminisce and to share our grief and condolences. By talking and sharing, we somehow lessen the burden we feel. But no religious arguments are needed here. Let us share our feelings and our grief in whatever manner we hope might lend some comfort.

I will always remember that sweet smile of Brad McCrimmon's. They will be missed terribly, and I know that fans in Colorado, St. Louis, Vancouver, New York, Dallas, Anaheim and all the other places that these people played and entertained the fans feel the same. We all lost some loved ones today.

The article is not that long, but it's Pasha...a very sad and subdued Pasha. My dear angel, know this - we love you, and we know the pain you're feeling.

I am just heartbroken over what happened this morning in Russia. I have a very fond memory of Brad McCrimmon giving my red carnation to Pasha for me. I will never forget it. What a terrible way to start the day, seeing the news. I think we all need to take a minute to cherish our friends and family, and remind ourselves how blessed we are to have them.

I am absolutely heartsick. I don't mind admitting I have been in tears since I read it. I had a red carnation to give to Pasha last year at camp, but I couldn't give it to him myself, so I asked Brad McCrimmon to give it to him for me, which he did. I saw him after the game and asked if Pasha got the carnation. Brad had a smile on his face and said, "Yes. He liked it." I will always be grateful to him for that small gesture.

My heart goes out to our brothers and sisters in St. Louis, who I know loved Pavol Dimitra for years. What a terrible, terrible piece of news. This has been the worst summer I can think of. Ever.

These two crackpots who started this fiasco think they own the city of Grand Rapids. Their names are on everything in that town. DeVos also tried to run for governor, and got his ass kicked by Jennifer Granholm. He couldn't own everyone, thank God.

I'm with the one who said they would write a letter to protest this. I love my team, and I always will. The love for the Wings goes back almost 50 years (yes, I'm that old), longer than most marriages last. But this is too much.

That I could tolerate more than those idiots trying to pull a Ponzi scheme.

And I don't care if it doesn't pay the bills by calling it Howe Arena. At least we could hold our heads high doing so. Anything else, and I'd want to hide in shame.

I thought the debate would be about how Amway sucks and is a pyramid scheme, etc.

Anyone here ever sat through an Amway presentation? I did it once and I will never do it again because it really was a waste of time. You got your plan A and plan B and hey, you can be like Mark Zuckerberg if you have the enthusiasm!!!

Amway IS a pyramid scheme. I don't like this at all.

#2205165 Your Favorite Wings Lines Ever

Posted by Kira on 25 August 2011 - 09:48 PM

The infamous "Two Kids and a Goat" line. Pasha and Boyd Devereaux feeding Hullie and just killing the opposition. They may have been a third or fourth-tier line, but damn, they could do some serious damage when they wanted to.
