I would venture to say that Ryan Clowe might choose his words a little more carefully next time when it comes to who he calls out. Nik Kronwall let him know that you should always be careful what you wish for.
I'm not ready to give in yet. I'm not ready to change my allegiance to Boston yet. This can't be the end. I know that eventually it will come to an end, but not yet. One more night, guys, that's all I ask.
It makes me think of something my mom said to me a couple months before she passed away. "I haven't fought this long and this hard to give up this easily." She was talking about fighting cancer, but I think these words fit the boys well.
My housemate made me a red and white beaded necklace before the season started. It has a 13 entwined in it as well. I put it on the first day of the season, and it has stayed on since. Before a game, I'll give the 13 a kiss for luck. So far, not bad. The string broke once - and it was the day he got hurt. It's a constant with me until the end of the season, and then I'll take it off and hang it up til September and camp.
I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Gordie at Traverse City in 2006. A sweeter and gentler man you could not ask for. He tried to feed my dog Galen (rest his soul) a banana! Didn't work, and then he said, "He'd probably prefer a calf."
Happy birthday to one of the classiest people to ever lace up the skates.
