1993 I was expecting them to beat the Leafs in the first round but thanks to Pat Burns god rest his soul that didn't happen
1994 They were supposed to be in the finals with New York, horrible first round though
1995 Should of won the cup, I expected them to win the cup they had the best team but maybe still needed to learn how to win a little bit more
1996 This was the year right we had the best record in history, everything going for us. Nope
1997 Did not expect them to win it at all, I just wanted to see them play Colorado some time durring the playoffs
1998 After they got Fedorov back I fully expected them to win the cup and with ease
1999 After getting Chelios, Wenddel Clark, Ulf Samuelson, and Bill Ranford to play goal how could they not win the cup! Didn't expect then to get blown away by Colorado
2000 Adding Pat Verbeek but still didn't expect them to win
2001 Never expected them to lose in the first round I thouhgt they might have a shot at the confrence finals
2002 Really did someone that follows hockey not expect them to win that year
2003 Fully expected them to repeat, stupid Giggy
2004 Chaos that season however they got Hatcher back at the right time so I expected them to at least be in the mix for the cup
2005 Even though there was no season I still expected them to win the cup
2006 Led the league in points best team overall, everyone felt like it was going to be Stevey Y's last year definitely expected them to comptete for the cup, didn't see that loss to Edmonton in the first round coming
2007 Thought they had a great shot after beating Calgary in the first round and after getting Bert at the trade deadline but it wasn't to be
2008 Fully expected them to win the cup with Hasek playing lights out in the regular season, who knew that Ozzie would lead them to it
2009 Expected them to win the cup
2010 If they got to the conferecne finals it would have been a small miracle still this is Hockeytown, so I have to be honest I expected them to win the cup
2011 In my opinion for top to bottom they have the best line up out there, the only question is in goaltending which I believe Howard can answer. I think they win the cup beating Pittsburgh if Crosby comes back in 6 games if he doesn't come back then they beat Philadelphia in 6

So you could argue that they are similar in the +/- stat category being that Ericcson plays for the 84 point Red Wings, while Bogosian plays for the 61 point Thrashers could you not? Not even considering ice time which I am sure Bogosian gets more of.
My point is don't take into consideration the +/- stat so much.
Ericcson is 6 years older too. That being said, I'd be trading Kindl before Ericcson for sure!!
I do think the plus minus does play a major role in todays NHL. Last year E a minus 15, he's definitely improving

Depth D man would be fine for me. No need for any other moves. I cringe at trading Ericcson right now because I don't see how Bogosian could help any more than Ericcson. Ya ya he's physcial, blah blah blah he's minus 11 with 4 goals and 8 assists. E is a plus 12 with 3 goals and 11 assists. he's got 73 hits too.

Hockeyfights.com posted this video on facebook and I saw one guy comment something along the lines of "Too bad Ott couldn't have got his original pick for a fight.. typical red wing"
So I of course had to comment and single him out and make him look just a little bit like a fool.
Anyways, does anyone have a count of how many games it's actually been since a Red Wing fought? Seems like forever. I'll settle for a ragdolling of that ugly douchebag, but it would have been so much sweeter to see Big E knock a few of the teeth out of Ott's mouth.. maybe that would finally shut him up for a while.
Franzen cannot fight see 2008 playoffs concussion problems

Godard and Gillies were involved in pretty much one incident each, what about the rest of the 15 fights lol? Those were all better or pretty even players with Mccarty.
Mccarty was there as a fighter first and foremost anyways, he WAS a fighter. Just one that was pretty good at hockey as well.
There is pretty much nothing different about this game than March 26th 1997 at the Joe. Mccarty's suckerpunch was actually much more vicious, blood every where and Mac was throwing knees for gods sake.
Its fine if you dont like this kind of thing in hockey but if you are one of the ones who loved that Mac Lemieux incident then take off the homer glasses for once in your life
That was pathetic... He threw a flying elbow and then tried to beat up a kid in his 5th NHL game. I'm all for fights, but the crap the he did and Martin almost assulting Talbot is stupid. Thats not hockey...
i'm not sure about all the whining and crying going on in this thread. do you guys seriously think you got robbed by the refs? all i hear is complaints about non calls for diving. i haven't read a single legit post about how the refs made a bad call, missed a call or made a non call on the sharks. if anything, they were calling the sharks tighter than the wings to keep the disparity between the numbers more even. the truth is that the refs set the tone of the game with the slashing call on heatley, reinforced the rules with the two calls on big bird and clearly stated the nothing was going to be tolerated when they called boarding on marleau at the end of the first. the sharks realized this and adjusted their game while the wings didn't and went on to commit seven more penalties.
and what does your diving argument really do for the outcome of the games? if it's a dive, then there must have been a wing committing a penalty so the best case scenario would be offsetting minors. and don't be surprised if the refs call a diving penalty on the wings tomorrow just for all the whining they have been doing.
personally, i hope (and i wouldn't be surprised) that the refs call a game for the wings in game 3 or 4. all it's really going to do is expose the real problem for the wings in the series and that is their suspect special teams play.
Your an embarrassment to other shark fans. Seriously you cant seriously acknowledge that the Wings got hosed at least once, and one could make the argument for both games. Sure the Sharks had some calls go against them, but nothing compared to the Wings. The sharks are diving the wings have not and if I was a betting man the second that the wings do they will get an embelishing call.... mark it down
