#1989539 Steve Yzerman named TB's new GM

Posted by TheDetroitRedWings on 25 May 2010 - 01:42 PM

Wow... I mean I'm happy for Steve and everything, but I really thought he would be a Red Wing for life. For me, this is devastating news... Stevie should be our GM, or atleast our assistant GM. Man this blows...

#1982026 Who do you cheer for now?

Posted by TheDetroitRedWings on 09 May 2010 - 11:28 AM

Well, I hate Pittsburgh and Chicago. So originally I was going to root on the Sharks if we were to get eliminated by them. But after seeing the refs quite literally hand the Sharks the series, I will now root against them the rest of the way. So I suppose for me, best case scenario would be either Boston, Philly, or Vancouver to win the cup. Unfortunately that doesn't seam likely. But that's what I'll be rooting for the rest of the way.

Did anyone see UFC 112??? What the hell was Silva doing??? I'm really starting to get annoyed by his antics in the ring. It was bad enough when he was mocking his opponent and literally dancing while he was fighting. But then he basically ran in circles for over a round. Can't wait for GSP to light this fool up.

#1938375 Songs that make you laugh

Posted by TheDetroitRedWings on 12 April 2010 - 06:01 AM

Hail to the "Victors"...

What's funny about that? Despite Rich Rod's horrible first 2 years, Michigan is still has by far the highest winning percentage in college football history. And also, still owns Ohio State in the all time head to head record. OSU has had a good last 6 years against them, but even counting recent history of the past 30 years Michigan still owns OSU. So yeah, don't really see the humor in their fight song. Oh and btw, I went to Michigan State, so it's not like im hyping my home school or something. Get a clue buddy.

This next song also used to crack me up back in the day. And it definitely still does:

#1932662 Should the Wings part ways with Osgood?

Posted by TheDetroitRedWings on 05 April 2010 - 09:57 AM

And this is a forum to express points and opinions.  You can do that in whichever thread you want related to the topic at hand as long as you aren't personally attacking somebody and doing it within the forum rules, bro.  Including this one.

My original point was the fact that there are several Osgood related threads. So I didn't want this thread to turn into yet another one. And no you can't discuss and make comments in any thread you want. I have the option to lock out comments and turn the thread into a poll only. But just in case people had any questions I decided to leave it open. I tried to make it clear that this was a poll only. Might wanna lose that attitude though buddy. I was saying bro in a lighthearted way, not a cocky dickhead way. If you wanna keep making this thread an Osgood debate thread I will lock the comment option. I just wanted to see how the numbers broke down in terms of who still wants Ozzie and who doesn't. Simple as that.

The big reason I hope we move on from Osgood is the hope that we'll get a solid reliable backup for Jimmy. Think about it, if Jimmy got hurt tomorrow and was out for 4-6 months, chances are we would be in big big trouble. So hopefully next season we'll have a capable consistent backup that would be able to come in if the worst happens to Howard, and we can all still feel confident about our team's chances. Howard's durability right now could literally make or break our chances of bringing home Lord Stanley's Cup. I pray that he stays healthy for the rest of the season and post season.

Anything has to be better than that horrible Blackhawks song featured in NHL 10. SOOOO annoying!

#1913559 How many players from Team USA would have made Team Canada?

Nobody likes basketball anyways. Can we agree on that???

No we can't. I happen to have a strong passion for Hockey, Baseball, Football and Basketball. Always have, always will. I'm like a junkie when it comes to the 4 major pro sports. lol

#1909758 Wow... this forum feels... awkward

Posted by TheDetroitRedWings on 06 March 2010 - 02:54 PM

I don't know why, but in the back of my mind that Black Chicken is ringing a familiar bell.

I googled it and nothing came up.

Does anyone know what it is/means?

Matt- as long as the keys on my keyboard produce the letters on the screen, this site is beautiful.

Pretty sure it was a way of making fun of the Red Wings name. Red Wings = Black Chicken. Clearly whoever hacked the site was a fan from another NHL team. Most likely a rival team.

BJ Penn fairly gave Diego Sanchez a licking yesterday - though I'm always more concerned about him licking his gloves after laying down a bloody beating.  I mean, Jesus, communicable diseases anyone?

He's good though.

He's not just good, he's the best 155 lbs fighter ever. If GSP was BJ Penn's size BJ would have destroyed him. Pound for pound there is no better all around mixed martial artist than BJ Penn.

Oh god, the immense levels of MW2 fanboy butthurt on the internet about their mediocre yet-another-generic-fratbro-FPS not winning Game of the Year is delicious...

I wouldn't go that far. But I will say, I thought COD5 was the overall better game. Don't get me wrong, I frickin LOVE MW2. But I just liked COD5 a tad better. Biggest reason being the whole melee aspect of the game. MW2 should have left the melee alone. Nothing annoys me more then getting knifed when I KNOW I saw the guy first and hit the button first. But ohhh he has commando on...bulls***. But other than that, love it.

Ive become a noob tuber..
Nube tube on my scar with the level 65 rocket launcher
Danger close, scavenger and commando.

Oh man, how fun it is to blow s*** up, esp. the campers in Wasteland

Especially the camping snipers. I almost always leave wasteland right away unless they shoot me right in the middle of a match or something.

Came to the conclusion that my favorite levels are Terminal, Highrise and Skidrow. Scrapyard is pretty sweet too. But the levels I hate the most are definitely Wasteland and Estate. Still though, what a bad ass game. Can't WAIT for the first map pack to come out. I'm guessing it won't be until spring, but still, gonna be sweet.
