What on Earth could you possibly have against Budd Lynch? The guy has been a Wing for 63 years, is in the Hall of Fame, and loves hockey more than probably everyone on this board, combined. The guy is an absolute legend, and familiar voice to those who have been Wings fans for years. Besides, he's just the PA announcer, it's not like Erich Freiny is going to make any difference.
But don't worry, at 94, he'll probably be gone before a new stadium is built anyway.
Awesome tweet from Alex Bolduc (@ADuke49) of The Coyotes
"ALMOST beat Lidstrom1 on 1 one time.......and by almost I mean chipped it past him and went for a change #claimtofame"
It's great to see all the players showing their admiration of Nick and his magnificent career. I know that I sure will miss him. Things sure are going to be different at The Joe. Godspeed Nick. Thanks for everything.
I am happy because it is Wednesday, which among other things, is sailing day, and the forecast calls for increasing winds through the afternoon and into the evening. Happy sails to me. There's also some hockey game or something tonight.
The person below me will be watching the aforementioned hockey game.
I've stayed at both The Bourbon Orleans and Maison de Ville hotels in New Orleans, which both "claim" to be haunted. Closest I got to haunted was Mrs. BigWillie getting a little scary after a few too many Hurricanes.
The person below me has been to Mardi Gras, (and can remember it.)
Edit: oops. The person above me snuck in line while I was finger tapping on my phone.
Maybe it's me, but he seemed like one of the only guys out their trying on a lot of nights late in the season, and in the playoffs. He played with more gusto than the whole 3rd and 4th line combined versus Nashville. If any of the young kids played with a heart like his we'd be discussing games in the GDT still. If the price isn't too high, I don't see why he can't be signed for one final year with expectations of maybe 40-60 games this year. I don't think a 12-14 forward is going to ruin our chances of winning anything next year. It's our 3-11 forwards that are a bigger concern, at least to myself.
Some of us remember who when Bowman was hired and he tried to run Yzerman out of town. It does happen. In fact it is rare to stay in one place your whole career. Go through just the RW history.Howe, Abel, delveccio, sawchuck, Lindsey, were all traded away at one point or another. Glad you brought up Shanahan. we traded for him. The let him walk as a FA. Got nothing back for him. He stayed 2 years to long.
Oh Really? And when was that, again??? When I read that, it made me disregard everything else that you had said.
I think you should sue Bettman for doing what the people who employ him, want him to do. I'd like to see how that works out for you. Do you really think that he is so smart, that he is going to "fool" 30 billionaires into doing what is bad for their pocketbooks. He'd be gone in a second if that happened. You think that they give a s*** about your belief that Bettman has ruined the game? If you like hockey as much as you imply that you do, they already have you hooked. Sure, you may turn it off for a while, but you'll be back. We always come back to the game we love, when we realize that there is no better game on earth.
People thought Clarence Campbell and John Ziegler did things that were bad for hockey before Bettman came in. Nothing new I guess.
Like others have stated, I don't understand your need to post a link to a 3 year old article here, especially one that you wrote. Other than fishing for web hits. Did you think to use the search topic function to see if this topic has been covered ad nauseum? I'll bet your article has already been linked to before, probably within a day of it being posted. If I recall, there were a whole lot of people here, blaming Bettman for everything from the Aids epidemic, to Global Warming, as well as the Penguins sucess that year.
I've said enough. Time to start a new, "Hudler Sucks" thread.
Hopping a plane to go down there in 30 minutes. They've never lost a game in Nashville that I've been at. Hoping to continue that tradition. 60 minutes of hard nosed hockey with no one taking a shift off. Let's bring it back here for game 6. LGRW...
Great job on the GDT, Mike. +1000 for the John Blutarsky.
Kronwall and Stuart playing 27 and 26 minutes. Quincey with 21.
We need some bodies back on D. Namely Lidstrom then, Ericsson. Lidstrom because he's Lidstrom, Ericsson can pick up PK minutes and allow the Wings to send Janik back to GR. He's a serviceable plug but it becomes apparent why Janik is a career AHLer.
Definitely agree with this. We need Big Rig out there so we can all blame him for our crappy play. It's just not fair to put that all on Janik.... And Kronner and Stewie really do need a break. They've been logging a lot of tough minutes since Nick has been out.
