#2283659 2012 Photoshop War: Predators vs. Red Wings

As good as that is it would be so much better in a Van/LA Photoshop war with Jonathan Quick as opposed to Shea Weber

#2283530 Chants From The Joe At Game 3?

Posted by mmamolo on 12 April 2012 - 12:36 PM

Here's mine: F*** you Weber !!!

Someone should just make a sign that says 'Weber: No longer a coverted Wings UFA target' and plaster it on the glass

I love this guy. I love that you find time to waste, and decide to post the most worthless amount of s*** on LGW. You make me smile, especially when you simply just look for negatives. Hell, I would be upset if the mods decided to ban you. I think you add flavor to the board, in a horrible way.

Kind of like how STDs add a sense of risk to promiscuous sex

#2283453 Darren Helm out for playoffs with lacerated wrist

Posted by mmamolo on 12 April 2012 - 11:42 AM

Sheahan is not eligible for the playoffs.

Originally that's what I thought also. But I read, in more than one article, that he is in fact eligible. Just google it

Also, for all those who love Darren Helm here is a parting picture:

#2283411 Chants From The Joe At Game 3?

Posted by mmamolo on 12 April 2012 - 11:00 AM

Nice call.

I personally plan on cheering as loud and as much as possible on Sunday at the Joe whether it is 2-0 or 1-1. Did you miss last season when the Wings were down to the Sharks? That building was electric in Games 4 and 6.

It's the playoffs. The Red Wings deserve our support and thankfully I don't think any of the 20,066 on Sunday will follow your advice.

I also was at Games 4 and 6 last year and it was amazing. The building never lost faith in the Wings and no matter the situation on Sunday it will be awesome. I'm making the trip from Toronto for the day to be there.

The Wings have a 14-1 record with me in attendance at the Joe over the years which includes a 7-1 playoff record. The one blemish is game 6 2010 against the Coyotes. I'm giving a guarantee Game 3 Wings win

Saw an article on either freep or mlive that they had the option to use Sheehan to fill Helms place. Is that the case?

Im on Freep right now and didnt see it. I'll check MLive but if you have the link post it.

I find it hard to believe Sheahan would see time but Im hoping he could. Just his size would be an improvement over Emmerton (if in fact he were to replace him)

#2280814 How Many More Wins?

Posted by mmamolo on 10 April 2012 - 08:56 AM

I'd guess 20 - 16 actual wins and 4 games we as fans felt we should have won if not for referees, bad bounces, or massive NHL produced conspiracies.

#2278748 Detroit has inside track on Parise

Posted by mmamolo on 06 April 2012 - 09:02 AM

Hopefully next season, Dats will be Parise's most favourite teammate to watch.

Parise wont be doing much watching (of Datsyuk) next season as they'll be on the ice together

#2275454 Nyquist needs to stay here

Posted by mmamolo on 29 March 2012 - 02:29 PM

I agree with keeping Nyquist-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi together. Franzen can play elsewhere.

I would have preferred to see (last night's game):

Nyquist - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi
Filppula - Zetterberg - Hulder
Franzen - Abdelkader - Cleary
Miller - Emmerton - Holmstrom

Let Franzen get his legs back with Abdelkader and Cleary doing the grunt work. Whenver Franzen gets hurt or comes back from an injury he seems very hesitant. I think had he been put with a couple of guys that can do the dirty work (a lot more consistently than Bertuzzi) would be good for Franzen. Then once his skating legs are back if you want to slide Franzen back with Datsyuk then go for it. But I would have started Franzen on the 3rd line

#2275448 this team is soft

Changes will come this offseason, you will see a tougher team next season.

You sound like a Leaf fan

#2275442 this team is soft

I didnt really think that the bump on Conklin was retaliation worthy. That being said, I thought what Jack Johnson did to Filppula early in the game deserved a punch to the face. Johnson literally steam rolled his head with his fist (knocking Fil down), then shoved him and fash washed him while Fil was on the ground.

I also didn't like the end where Zetterberg was taking shots as the horn blew

#2274820 3/28 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Blue Jackets 4

Posted by mmamolo on 28 March 2012 - 12:27 PM

I have to say, I've never been an Ericsson fan, but he had been playing much better this season prior to his injury. Hopefully he can keep it going!

Yeah, i just think he is severely underrated on this board. I'm not saying he's a stud or that I want him in the top 4 but I think he can be a dependable 5/6 pairing and he adds more, today, to the line up than Kindl.

#2274803 3/28 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Blue Jackets 4

Posted by mmamolo on 28 March 2012 - 11:30 AM

Tonight will be exciting for a couple of reasons:

1. When the Wings win they will be 3 pts up on Nashville and even in ROW which will set up Friday night's game to awesome. If they win Friday that will essentially guarantee them the 4th seed.

2. Despite the hate Franzen and Ericsson get on these boards by some they are returning and the Wings will have essentially the line up they are going to start the playoffs with (minus Howard, assuming Helm will need a tiny bit more time).

Franzen - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi
Filpulla - Zetterberg - Hudler
Miller - Abdelkader - Cleary
Nyquist - Emmerton - Holmstrom

Lidstrom - White
Kronwall - Stuart
Ericsson - Quincey

#2254648 What Ken Holland should do at the deadline

Posted by mmamolo on 10 February 2012 - 12:24 PM

I would imagine he was on something...seeing as he traded Kindl to the Leafs and yet he was still in the Wings final roster

#2253572 Jeff Carter

Posted by mmamolo on 08 February 2012 - 11:44 AM

Anybody who thinks that Carter would not be a great addition(and give Detroit that much-needed right-handed sniper)probably needs to watch another sport. Hockey is not your game. Character/Attitude problems? Well, I guess LA should of traded Kobe Bryant years ago? I will admit, I like players with good character, but I also like to win... and besides, the worse thing I heard about Carter is that he likes to chase teammate's wife's. If you have a faithful wife, you have nothing to worry about. Would I rather have a player like Bobby Ryan? Sure, but the price would be a lot steeper.

One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch. Get 'er done, Kenny!

If you've ever watched Carter and still think he'd be a great addition (especially considering the cost it would take) then you're the one who needs to watch another sport. This guy plays predominantly on the perimeter, never bears down when the going gets difficult, and quits on plays more often than not. He is extremely overrated.

People always are so pumped to trade for 'superstars' but if you look back on so many deals that have been made league wide for these supposed upper echelon type guys the team that receives the package almost always wins - provided there isn't some outside factor in trading the player (i.e Kovalchuk as a pending UFA that wasnt going to re-sign).

To me, Jeff Carter would be a mistake on so many levels it's not even funny

#2252012 Ramage hit on Oliver

Posted by mmamolo on 04 February 2012 - 11:31 AM

I was flipping through the channels last night and happened to stop on the Wisconsin-St.Cloud State game. I had only caught about 5 minutes of the game when this thing of beauty occurred:

Ramage recieved a 5min for "Blow to the head" and also was tossed from the game :scared: Needless to say Papa Eaves & the Wisconsin faithful were less then pleased, and the sport of hockey died a little last night.

The exact same thing happened to me. I was bored and flipping through channels and noticed the game and I thought I'd put it on to watch a bit of Nick Jensen. Two minutes later the monster hit happens. THat's hilarious

It was a bad call and then SCST goes down a man after the retaliation. It was dumb
