Yeah looking through the free agent list I thought Boychuk would be a possibility but I was thinking he would get a bit of a raise and be a bit to expensive for the wings cap situation.
I'm thinking our 6th dman this year is going to be getting no more then about 1.2 million or so.
He's gonna have to be cheap. Here's some guys that pop into my head in addition to the guys you mentioned:
Sean O'Donnell-Veteran Presence, still physical and fights Andy Sutton-May be too expensive, but he would be my choice Jay Leach-Cheap,big,physical,fights Tim Conboy-Same as Leach Aaron Johnson-Someone mentioned him earlier. He'd be a good fit Willie Mitchell-Main problem with him is $$$ Carlo Colaiacovo-Physical and good puck handler.Main knock is injury history. Jay McKee-Would be a good mentor for Ericsson.Classic stay at home guy.
If we're lucky Hurricane Hudler will shift direction - heading south into Florida...With a change of the barometric pressure we could potentially see a light sprinkling of St.Louis heading our way instead.
That was an epic post. Will the aftermath of the shift of Hurricane Hudler bring about a Konopkik"cataclysm" back in Detroit?
Arent we all gonna look foolish when Leino single handedly wins the cup and the conn smythe to go with it. On a serious note he has looked really good, I dont know what his actual ice time was tonight but it seemed like he played 45 minutes, he was all over the ice.
Amazing how a guy develops when he doesn't have to worry about getting ran every shift...
Sorry - I missed the subtleties; I'm used to the "Emoticons"
Very reasonable indeed...Like others have said - if Nick were greedy he could've gone elsewhere, and have gotten $7 million plus - however he's a good guy, a class act, and thankfully a Detroit Red Wing for life.
Another thing Kenny can cross of on his offseason to-do list. Now for that tough guy...
