Thank God for YouTube...I can relive my youth, and passion for "Old Time Hockey" again, and again ;)

Amen.Nothing like reliving the cup-clinching goals and crazy brawls and spectacular saves and huge hits and man i can go all day watching old hockey clips.

When Hextall jumped him was even worse.

I love watching the old fight videos.I can watch em over and over.Especially when Hextall jumped Chelios.

I wouldn't be so sure of Miller coming back guys. He was a solid waiver pick up but Holland wants tougher guys in the bottom 6. Miller might have to go.

I doubt he's back next year.I wanna see some good ol'rock em sock em anyways

Canucks’ Mitchell criticizes head shot policy

Love this article. I didn't quote the full article.

The physicality needs to stay in the game, but i don't mind trying to eliminate the brutal, spineless hits from behind.

I don't understand why it is so hard to believe that Lidstrom "may" take 2 million for a 1 year contract being this close to retirement. Yzerman did the same thing, if memory serves right, I believe Yzerman only made 1 million in his final season. And we would have payed him 5 million to stay I'm sure. Hell, I think he only made around 2 million the year before his last season.

If Lidstrom taking less money means the team will be more competitive, he will.

I can see him taking less, just not taking 2 mil. That's a lot to ask.Could be wrong tho.

#1984663 Mike Babcock expects 70 points from Hudler

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 13 May 2010 - 02:56 PM

Wow, I'm surprised someone else here besides you sees him scoring 70 points.

Everytime we have a thread like this on LGW, something bad happens. Last year we had a "Will Franzen get 50 Goals" thread, and we've had a Zetterberg thread that was the same and of course that "Will Datsyuk Get 100 points" thread.

If those guys couldn't reach their fantasized projections, I can't see Hudler doing it. He's never hit 70 points, and now we may not have Lidstrom back next year and Hank and Pavel barely hit 70 this year. I just don't see it. If he hits 50 points, I say that's a pleasant surprise and a success.

Jiri Hudler will not score 70 points next season.

#1983960 Holland Targets Gritty 4th Liner

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 12 May 2010 - 05:54 PM

I'd take any of those players.

Asham would top that list for me, and then we should also add a legitimate heavy on top of that. That would make us a tougher team to play against.

Top 6 will probably stay unchanged, since there isn't much out there that we can pursue, thus the bottom 6 forwards are all Holland can look for.

Asham and a heavyweight would be amazing. Here's my list of players i'd be happy with:

Shawn Thornton
Krys Barch
Arron Asham
Adam Mair
Brandon Prust
Eric Boulton
Raffi Torres
Steve Begin
Zenon Konopka
Andrew Peters
Brian McGrattan
Jody Shelley
Scott Nichol
Brian Sutherby
Kyle Chipchura
Ryan Johnson
Derek Boogaard
Brad Winchester
Colin Fraser
Darcy Hordichuk
Cam Janssen
Jared Boll
Ben Eager
David Koci
Nate Thompson
Tim Jackman
Aaron Voros
Brian Boyle
Adam Burish
Byron Bitz
Josh Gratton
Jamal Mayers
David Clarkson
Jason Chimera

Although goons like McGrattan,Janssen, and Koci are unlikely to be signed, theyre worth mentioning. There's plenty of muscle available this offseason.

With hudler returning we have enough top 6 players, the only player i'd like to see signed as a top 6 this summer is frolov.

I'd play Kenny $500 to trade Hudler to Philadelphia for Carcillo.

Watching highlights of the Pens game makes me angry that we won't be getting a 3-peat meeting with Crysby in the Finals.

I was so looking forward to that.

I just wanna see s***tsburghf****** lose.

#1981731 Who should we Keep? Release? Sign?

I feel Its time to let the obsession with Draper, Malts...etc go.. Bring in the young talent and turn the page.
Drapes was nowhere to be found this playoffs... (malts was hurt)

What do you think...

Draper and Maltby are washed up.Although they've played such a big part in championship teams past, its time for them to retire.Let Williams,Bertuzzi,Lebda,Lilja,Meech, and Miller go and bring in some guys with some realf****** passion.Find some way to get rid of Rafalski.I'm seriously sick of watching the constant turnovers.

Did Brad May s*** in Babcock's pool for him to not even be considered over those 2 players?

Ritola isn't used to big games and Williams is used tof****** up in them.

Give May a chance to come out there and give the 4th line some energy. This is his month of the year, literally. :D

That's what i've been saying. Its ridiculous.Brad May knows his role and he's responsible defensively. He's been in these situations before and has a ring to prove it.Give the guy a chance.

#1979862 Never thought i'd say this,but...

That along with the fact that he signs players for INSANELY long terms. Theres no guarantee today's superstar will still be playing like one in 2015.

How many more years does Rafalski have on his contract?Cleary?

I'm sorta hoping for Kenny to trade Dan Cleary this off-season.He hasn't been nearly as effective this year.Good guy,but just hasn't been his usual clutch self this postseason.

#1979839 Possibility that Williams plays Game 5

Posted by Bring Back The Bruise Bros on 08 May 2010 - 11:04 AM

Amen. Even if Ritola didn't provide that alternative play style, he'd still be an improvement over a guy who hurts this team every single game he's in. We've got to be in it to win it, and WIlliams isn't. At this point it's too risky to go with a guy who won't give 100% every game from here on out.

At least give Brad May a chance..jesus..
