6 browser tabs should do the trick.

#2514735 ECQF - Game 4 - Bruins 3 at Red Wings 2 (F/OT)

If we hear a TOD-BER-TUZZI chant tonight, then it was the right decision.

#2481150 So what do we call the 26 - 15 - 21 line?

Posted by redwingmachine on 04 February 2014 - 10:01 AM

Reguarding the Jurco, Sheahan, Tatar line.

It's pretty obvious that these kids have chemestry and tallent.  It's good to see them getting 2nd line minutes.  Mickey always refers to them as the kids and they are a whole lot of fun to watch as they swarm the slot and play down low.

Do you think it's time to give the line a name, if so what should it be?

I love how after the hit Pavs then blocks his leg from coming up.

You are a space monkey, ready to be shot into space… a sacrifice for the greater good!

I salute you sir!  :punk:

#2368410 Why shootouts may be a bad thing

Posted by redwingmachine on 13 March 2013 - 01:19 PM

What if they added a defenseman to the mix on a shootout?  For example, the D-man stands on the opposite blue line and can’t chase until the puck is touched at center. This would add a level of back pressure and Kane would get crushed trying to pull that slow-mo BS he does.  Just my $0.02.

#2367930 Nyquist called up, Tatar sent down

Posted by redwingmachine on 12 March 2013 - 10:13 AM

This doesn’t make any sense.  So, Babs won’t break up the abysmal 2nd line to not mess with the chemistry of the 3rd line and yet sends the best guy on the 3rd line down for an unknown.  Awesome!

Nyquist better end up with Dats or somewhere in the top six.

Can't wait to get a look at this kid.  Also, can't wait to hear the proper annunciation of his name.

#2336935 NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*

If the cap were to end up at 60M for 12-13, that would put 16 teams in the need of some overhauls, including the Wings by about 1.5M.

http://www.capgeek.c...cap=$60,000,000

I think this should solve that problem (if i understand it correctly):

"- Each Club will be entitled to execute up to one "Compliance Buy-Out" prior to the 2013/14 season pursuant to which payments made to the Player will not be charged against the team's Cap, but will be charged against the Players' Share."

I love that man. So freaking talented and yet so humble.

#2325630 Hockey News sees us finishing 7th

Posted by redwingmachine on 17 August 2012 - 09:42 AM

Well it's a damn good thing the game is played on the ice and not decided by sport writers. The Red Wings have a new look, players will step up, everything's going to be just fine. I personally think it will be better than fine and we will surprise a lot of sport writers and fans this year. I can't wait until puck drop to see what we really have.

Sincerely,
Optimism

#2307402 Is the Stanley Cup really the hardest trophy in all of pro sport?

Posted by redwingmachine on 14 June 2012 - 02:27 PM

As for basketball, here are my thoughts:

1. Way too many time-outs.
2. If you can score over 100pts in a single game, maybe it is too easy for the players.
3. Why is everyone amazed by a 7ft tall giant that drives the net and dunks on a helpless defender that can't do ANYTHING to stop him?
4. It's a game of embellishment. Nothing is more annoying than a 7ft tall giant flopping around like Joe Thornton after a little bump with an elbow.

As for baseball:
1. The sport is so slow and boring, even the announcers lose focus drift off most of the time.
2. Sports need a time keeping system not this seemingly never ending inning system, makes the game d-r-a-g.
3. You can't call it a world series unless the world participates.
4. The batter needs to step up to the plate ready to play... none of this: swing at a pitch then step out and take a few more swings, stretch out, tap the shoes again, adjust, then step back in. BE READY!

NHL or ice hockey in general is the only sport for me!

This article brings up an interesting point about NFL vs NHL playoffs.

"To win the Superbowl a team must be the better team through 44 minutes of play.
To win the Stanley Cup a team must be the better team through a minimum of 16 hours of play."

Did you know that in football the ball is only in motion about 11 mins out of every game? That seems like a lot of standing or "huddling" to me.

The NHL definitely has the toughest season and the toughest playoffs.
