#2534208 LGW Fit Club

I love the Fitbit, actually. It's the primary reason this has worked so well. I'm down 42 pounds now, and getting close to the goal -- want to hit the gym and build up muscle mass as the weather starts to cool. (That and adding equipment in the basement.)

The Fitbit + syncing with MyFitnessPal (watch calorie intake) and MapMyFitness is FANTASTIC. Can't recommend it enough. Has made this process tremendously easy.

#2533932 Greatest Wings game ever

Posted by wings4thecup06 on 09 August 2014 - 07:41 AM

Hockey withdrawal symptoms have reached a point of catastrophy. To alleviate these symptoms I'm watching the entire 97 cup run and will spend most of September watching the 98 run also.

This got me thinking. If you could name one Wings game that you saw that was in your opinion the greatest game you've ever seen, what would it be?

For me it's game 6 2002 WCF vs the Avalanche because it just demonstrated just how dominant Hasek really was and Roy's gaffe was such a beautiful moment. Even better that it virtually cost the Avs another shot at the cup. I just remember being so elated with joy after seeing us stick it to Colorado. That series and that rivalry had so much passion and intensity and I can still hear Gary Thorne's voice as Shanny put the puck past a showboating Roy.

What about anyone else?

I hate zombies and people dressed up like zombies and shows about zombies and pictures of zombies.

Almost any starting goaltender.

#2533373 Red Wings add Jim Hiller and Andrew Brewer to coaching staff

Posted by Echolalia on 30 July 2014 - 01:38 PM

I really don't know much about these guys other than what I read so if anyone can shed some light on them please do. thanks.

No one ever knows much about any of the assistant coaches Babcock picks out, until 3 years later when they're the most desired coaching candidates in the league.

Happy dance.  Happy dance.

Now just give us DannyD and I'll be happy.

EDIT: Make that "I'll be totally happy".  I'm now happy enough to be doing a happy dance.  When we sign Danny I'll be doing a happy backflippy kind of dance.  Right now it's more of a happy cha-cha.

#2533078 Winter is coming..

Posted by FlashyG on 27 July 2014 - 02:58 PM

For some reason, going by the topic title I thought this was going to be some kind of Game of Thrones related thread.

There's no reason it can't be.

#2532633 'District Detroit': Red Wings' New Arena Details Released

Posted by BottleOfSmoke on 20 July 2014 - 12:14 PM

I think it looks amazing. Hopefully it all comes to fruition. I am so thankful that there are people out there who love the city of Detroit as much as I do and who refuse to give up on trying to make it a better place. I will miss the Joe in all its s***ty glory, and hope they don't tear it down. I'd like to see it repurposed, maybe as the aquarium they had talked about at one time, but I know that's probably a pipe dream.
